We’re looking forward to introducing you to Verroti. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Verroti, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day in my life starts with me waking up early and having my coffee. Arrange the house and get ready to hit the gym. I’ll return around 8-8:30 am, have breakfast, and plan my day. I work until 3pm and I take breaks in between.
And I enjoy my evenings alone, either reading, writing, or hanging out.
That’s a normal day for me lately.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Okay, my name is Verroti, I’m an Artist and entrepreneur, currently living and working in Lagos, Nigeria. I own a clothing Brand and a Project management company, The Veellain INC. We focus more on sports and regular wear that fits everyone, from the middle-class to the top 1%.
I dropped a self-titled album “VERROTI DI ASO” on 13th September 2024, it’s a 9-track project. And I am currently working on another one that will define my craft and what I stand for. I will communicate the title later, but the first single off the project will be out in October. It’s titled ‘NORTHSIDE’. Northside is a hopeless romantic love song I wrote when I was in Cyprus. I’m sure my audience will love and appreciate it a lot.
I collaborated with a couple of artists, like Sec and Sid Luiz, and I am currently hoping Wizkid clears his verse for me before then.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Haha, I’ve always been Verroti, I never had a moment when I felt the world telling me who I am or had to be. I know myself and what I am, and I just worked towards achieving what makes me Verroti. Always working and striving to be better and better.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Hmm, Yes. I’ve been in situations where I almost gave up, a couple of times to be honest… The most recent time was when I was about to drop my last project. I lost my dad 7 days before the drop date. I felt so down, and I was confused about what to do and how to do it. I was advised to reschedule or push back. I thought about it over and over again and decided to push ahead and drop the album on the planned date. And I didn’t regret it at the end.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. 100%
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I’ll say smoking and drinking alcohol. Every other thing I’ll try to perfect and get better and better at it.
