Luv Docta shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Luv , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I am chasing a dream into reality. To become happy by doing the things that I love and value the most. The goal of being financially free with limitless opportunities and resources for a lifetime. Coming to a stop of all this will only show me that I was not hungry enough for it. Failing is not an option, but we can endure and use pain as our motivation to get there.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am the Doctor of Vibes. Prescribing music, real talk, and experiences that heal, uplift, and connect. LUV DOCTA is more than an artist — he’s a cultural voice and entrepreneur blending R&B vibes, raw conversations, and lifestyle. Through music, entertainment, and business, he prescribes energy that heals, connects, and inspires. Whether on stage, online, or through lifestyle projects, his mission is simple: to prescribe vibes you can feel and to inspire stronger connections every day.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
When you are emotionally in a relationship and attached to a certain someone, that relationship can shape you in ways that can affect how you move and process. For instance, my last relationship of 7yrs… taking the single time to work on myself, reflect, take on different and new hobbies or responsibilities.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
From my last relationship that ended of 7yrs. Music was used as an outlet and comfort. Imagine dealing with stress, depression, ADHD, and taking music to express your everyday feelings. I have been quite the entertainer growing up, but it became a lifestyle and journey once I got on that mic. Though I have been doing music prior to that, there were certain events and things that took in effect in my life, and I had to go through it to find out what I really wanted to do.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That talent alone ensures success.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I am most at peace when I am alone, giving myself space and time to reflect and think. In the studio, when I am creating music that turns emotions into art, especially late-night sessions where the world is quiet and it’s just the vibe, the pen, and the beat. Being on stage, when connecting with a crowd, watching people sing back my lyrics, and seeing the energy shift as the music becomes a shared experience.
Peace is also real conversations, when fans, friends, or followers share how my music or words helped them through love, heartbreak, or life.
Lastly, being in alignment, when the art, the message, and the hustle all feel like they’re working toward the bigger vision of building the LUV movement.
