Meet Michelle Chua

We were lucky to catch up with Michelle Chua recently and have shared our conversation below.

Michelle, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
My purpose stems from what I love and inspires me deeply to want to share. Since i was a little girl, my teachers were my heroes, and I dreamt of being a teacher one day. In my early adult years, I transitioned from working for over 7 years as a credentialed schoolteacher to a facilitator of Yoga, after my own Yoga practice deepened during my recovery from a dance injury and during my challenging times while volunteering abroad on my own. Experiencing how Yoga transformed and healed me physically, mentally-emotionally and spiritually, moved me to share ways others could empower their own healing and awakening to mindful living.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Most impactful in my journey is my daily practice of connecting inward through meditation, strengthening my intuition through daily quality time in nature and getting clear on my WHY, in terms of choosing the work I do or the places I live.

My advice is to dive deep into what you love and find your personal way to connect with that daily, even if only a few minutes a day. I believe what inspires us and moves us deeply are keys to our purpose.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m open to collaborating with people who are passionate about creating healthy, delicious and plant-based meals, especially for our local retreats and community events. I’m also open to collaborating with venues with nearby nature that would like to host conscious community events, like our Yoga classes and retreats. I’m open to ideas from others who may like to collaborate creatively in promoting well-being and mindful connection with nature.
