Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julia Young. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Julia, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
get my resilience from loss — and from what it’s taught me about love and strength. I lost my mom when I was 24, and later my stepmom and sister as well. Each experience was different, but they all taught me how fragile and precious life really is.
Grief has been one of my greatest teachers. It showed me that resilience isn’t about pushing through or pretending everything’s okay — it’s about learning how to live fully, even with what you’ve lost. It’s about showing up for yourself and others with compassion and gratitude, no matter what life throws your way.
Those experiences grounded me, gave me perspective, and helped me find purpose in helping others — whether that’s through my work, movement, or simply being someone who brings light where it’s needed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m Julia Young — a caregiver, content creator, and mental health advocate passionate about helping people live more connected, mindful, and balanced lives.
Professionally, I’ve spent over 17 years working with children and families, and I founded The Mindful Nanny, a nature-based childcare and pet care service centered around movement, creativity, and emotional awareness. I love creating experiences that help kids and animals feel safe, seen, and free to explore — especially outdoors and away from screens.
Alongside that, I create content under @fitspiritualgangsta, where I share fitness, wellness, and lifestyle content focused on strength, self-awareness, and mental health. My goal is to show that you can be strong and grounded — that physical health and emotional well-being go hand in hand.
After navigating my own seasons of loss and healing, I’ve become a big advocate for mental health and mindfulness. I use my platform to remind others that resilience can be built with compassion, movement, and everyday intentionality.
Right now, I’m expanding into collaborations and partnerships that align with wellness, fitness, and mindful living — from activewear and supplements to lifestyle and beauty brands — all rooted in authenticity, healing, and self-growth.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three qualities that have had the biggest impact on my journey are resilience, empathy, and self-awareness.
Resilience came from the challenges I’ve faced — learning how to keep showing up, even when life didn’t go as planned. It taught me that growth doesn’t come from avoiding hard moments but from learning how to move through them with grace.
Empathy has guided everything I do — from working with kids and families to creating content that connects on a deeper level. When you truly understand others, you’re able to lead, teach, and create with heart.
And self-awareness has been key to my personal and professional growth. Knowing when to rest, when to push, and when to shift directions has helped me stay grounded and aligned with what actually feels right.
For anyone early in their journey — take time to build inner strength as much as outer success. Reflect, stay curious, and don’t rush the process. The more you understand yourself, the more authentic and impactful your work will become.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! I’m always open to collaborating with brands and people who align with wellness, fitness, mindfulness, and mental health advocacy. I love working with companies that value authenticity, intentional living, and community — whether that’s through activewear, beauty, supplements, or lifestyle partnerships.
I also enjoy creating content that inspires others to move, heal, and reconnect with themselves, so I’m always open to projects that tell real stories and make a positive impact.
