Meet Sereta Boghossian

We recently connected with Sereta Boghossian and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sereta, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?

My self-care includes not only taking care of my beauty needs, but also my need for quiet time and space to rest and recover physically and mentally. As a mom, it’s easy to put yourself last but when you move as a person used to being put last, it is reflected in everything! It’s okay to take the time to get your hair cut, your nails done, take a midday nap. When you’re pouring from a filled cup, you have more to give. When I was young, I heard Deion Sanders say, “when you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you work good.” And that always stuck with me

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a growing stylist in the beauty arena that covers several sectors. Skincare, Eyebrows, Makeup and Eyelashes. I currently travel and am expanding to multiple locations over central Texas. My main focus is makeup and skin in the bridal industry! It’s such an honor being apart of what is often a couple’s best day of their life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Desire, patience and practice. I truly desired my career so I kept going at it in order to make it happen. I had the patience to start over and over again. Lastly was practice. You’ll never be good at what you do without practice and it’s best to do it even in your slow periods to maintain skills

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?

You have to follow the market. While it is amazing to focus on your strengths, you also need to grow with the trends to make sure your business grows and doesn’t stay stagnant or even collapse if everyone had moved on to the new iteration of something
