Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Foreman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Taylor, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

This is an important for any entrepreneur.
For me, it started by finally acknowledge that I was created with purpose.. We all were. Through my faith I started asking “What is my purpose in this life God?” and not long after the answers started coming to me. In relation to my entrepreneurial journey, the answer I received was to serve others in love and with my unique abilities that I am created with. I took inventory of all my abilities and the jobs I was tasked with through the years. Overtime I began gaining a deeper understanding of myself and others around me.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am the Local, Coastal Guide of South Mississippi. Through Tailor-Made Tours I create one of a kind Itineraries curated to my client’s tastes, interests, and occasion. I created this business because I know my coastal home has so much potential and many amazing things to see. Sometimes it is hard for guests to know exactly what all South Mississippi has to offer and what all is worth it to visit. Once I have connected with the client to get a personal understanding on their interests I build them an itinerary tailored to them. During the day of their tour, I pick my clients up and guide them through the experience. I am the middle (wo)man for clients and the different experiences along the coast. I handle everything from purchasing tickets, lunch/dinner reservations, and proper accommodations for the group, etc.

We also offer a Chauffeur service for clients that are hosting private events and is in of the amenity of having shuttle rides to and from.

We have also leaned in to private sit down beach set ups for special occasions such as bachelorette parties, surprise proposals, intimate gatherings.

My company is expansive and offer many different angles to hospitality to serve my client’s needs that would be fun, luxurious, and dynamic.

One day I will lean into International traveling with clients and connecting them to trusted guides in different countries.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

My three qualities, skills, or knowledge that I have is:
1. Resilience
2. Attention to detail
3. Hospitality and being able to connect with clients on a personable level.

I believe anyone who seek to lean into their own niche would need to strengthen their ability to be resilient through the nay sayers, the quiet seasons, and the internal thoughts that make one second guess themselves. To strengthen this the person has to build their own inner confidant, encourager, reminder. Practicing affirmations, meditation, and understand thyself I will benefit any entrepreneur through their bold journey.

Being attentive to details is a HUGE part of what I do. My clients are dependent on me to come through with my promises on their itinerary. Mistakes can happen. It is apart of the human design; however, it is a skill that can be cultivated by awareness and asking all the necessary questions for each portion of the itinerary, set up, or service. Also, being attentive to who your guests are. Clients appreciate feeling important when you remember all the personal details about them that they’ve expressed.

Attention to detail co-exist with connecting with guests on a personal level. To cultivate being hospitable means to think of all the things that would make the guest/client’s life easier through the given experience. Being hospitable means to serve others genuinely. To cultivate this, begin doing for others without expectation of reciprocity.

My collaborative relationships are important to me. I am seeking other individuals or companies that are tour operators around the world. This is for the expansion of Tailor-Made Tours bring people to other countries to showcase the best experience in their area. I am open to connecting with travel agents or anyone who is in the hospitality industry who want to bring their service/experience to a new audience.
