Hi Kyle, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finance and helping people have always been two things I’ve been passionate about. I’ve always loved numbers and problem-solving, but even more than that, I’ve loved seeing how the right guidance can change someone’s life. God led me into this career at the perfect time, and I quickly realized being a loan officer was where I was meant to be. Over the past four years, my business has grown so much, and with that growth has come the opportunity to help countless families — from first-time homebuyers achieving a lifelong dream to repeat buyers finding their next chapter.
Every day I’m reminded that this career isn’t just about mortgages or interest rates — it’s about people, faith, and the blessing of helping others find a place to call home.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a loan officer who helps buyers look through their finances and determine which loan program best fits their situation. For me, it’s about more than just providing a product — it’s about providing guidance, service, and knowledge. I stay in communication with my clients throughout the entire process and make sure they’re set up for long-term success, not just the closing table. There’s nothing better than helping someone who didn’t think homeownership was possible and watching them get the keys to their first home.
Over the past four years, my business has grown each year — and that’s something I give all the glory to God for. Once I stopped stressing about business and started trusting Him to guide me, everything began to fall into place. I’ve been honored to be recognized as Best of Lexington, Richmond, and Danville and to be a Top 3 KHC Lender for the past three years. My family, community, and past clients have been such a strong source of support and encouragement along the way.
What makes my brand, KY Best Loans, special is that every borrower is treated like they’re the only one I’m working with. I give each person my full attention and make sure they feel valued and informed every step of the way. Professionally, I’m focused on continuing to grow while hosting more realtor and client events that bring people together. Personally, I’m focused on balancing that growth with the best life possible for me and my family.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have made the biggest difference in my journey are communication, patience, and faith. Communication is everything in this business — keeping buyers informed and confident through every step builds trust and lasting relationships. Patience has been just as important, because every buyer’s story is different, and sometimes it takes extra time and creativity to find the right path to homeownership. And faith has guided me through it all — learning to stop worrying about what’s next and instead focus on serving others the best I can has completely changed my outlook and results.
For anyone just getting started, my advice would be to focus on people before production. Learn your craft, understand your programs, but never lose sight of the human side of the business. Keep showing up, communicate with honesty, and trust that consistency and faith will open the right doors at the right time. If you stay focused on helping others succeed, your own success will naturally follow.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I believe you grow fastest and serve people best when you lean into your God-given strengths — the things that come naturally and make you different. When you pour energy into what you’re great at, your passion shows, and clients feel it. In the mortgage world, that might be communication, empathy, or educating buyers — those are strengths that create trust and repeat business.
That said, I don’t ignore weaknesses; I just don’t let them control my focus. If there’s an area that slows me down, I try to learn enough to manage it or surround myself with people who are strong in that area — processors, underwriters, or teammates who fill in those gaps.
A quick example: when you stopped worrying about chasing business and instead leaned into your natural strength — helping people and trusting God with the outcome — your growth exploded. That’s a perfect real-life example of the power of focusing on strengths.
A lot of people are in this business and I think if you be yourself and just work on what you are best at you will succeed.
