Meet Trevor J. Brown

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Trevor J. Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Trevor below.

Trevor, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?

One of my favorite bands is Coldplay. I saw an interview once with their front man Chris Martin. It seems like people really enjoy Coldplay or they despise them. Well, Chris said it best in this interview I saw. He said something like, if you like what we do, thank you for coming along with us on this journey. But if you don’t like what we do, that’s okay too and we wish you well.

That’s the stance I’ve taken with my company Inherent Dream and all of our projects. If you like our podcasts and music we’ve released, thank you. We hope you like the projects we have coming with books and films too. But if it’s not for you, we understand. We honestly wish you well.

I also think of it this way… I am not in Taylor Swift’s demo. I will admit I do like some of her material and if the song “Shake It Off” comes up on my playlist, I will turn it up. I’m not going out of my way to listen to her, but I will never give somebody crap for enjoying her music or going to see her on tour. Everyone has their own tastes and interests.

If seeing someone experience some sort of joy brings you some sort of anger, please check your priorities. Life is too short to be so bitter.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My name is Trevor J. Brown and I am the Founder, President and Show Host with Inherent Dream. Inherent Dream is a media company dedicated to the exploration of the arts. We produce podcasts, music and projects involving art, photography, books and eventually films.

Inherent Dream started out of my love for a variety of artistic mediums including radio and tv, podcasts, films, books, art and photography. It started out as a “side-hustle” about a decade ago and became a bigger part of my world a few years ago. It was scary to take that leap, but with the encouragement of my wife Lindsey, I jumped into the deep end of the pool and Inherent Dream is continuing to go strong.

In 2026, Inherent Dream will continue to evolve. We will be streamlining our podcasts, releasing new music, experimenting with some film projects and some other things too. I love the creative process and am excited to hopefully bring some joy to you through all of these projects.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I could list a bunch of things to help you and your business. I would say communication is key. Communicate with others how you would want to be communicated with. Get organized. And I could list a million other things, but the most important thing in my playbook is to be kind. Maya Angelou said once, “People will always remember how you made them feel”.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

Everyday is a gift. So if I only had a decade left, I would spend every minute trying to bring some light and joy into the world. The world seems like a dark place right now. We need more joy. Less social media and less arguing on those platforms and more light.

When owning and operating your own company, it is easy to lose sight of things. It is easy to always ask what others think and lose sight of your own goals and lose sight of what you actually want. While at times it is important for feedback from others, we must also remember our goals. What do you want to do? What do you want to see? In 2026, Inherent Dream is rebranding and doing a full relaunch. We are going to continue to evolve and build our empire the way we want to build it. And if you like it, come along with us! And if you don’t, that is ok too and we wish you well!
