We were lucky to catch up with Almostmine recently and have shared our conversation below.
Almostmine, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
For us, creativity is the heart of everything we do — and we keep it alive by treating it as a group effort, not just an individual spark. Every week we meet to rehearse, write, and brainstorm, and those sessions are where ideas start to snowball. One of us might bring in a single lyric or guitar riff, and by the end of the night we’ve built an entire song around it.
Each member has a unique way of staying inspired:
• Katie (vocals) writes and collects fragments of phrases from everyday thoughts and conversations, which often become our hooks.
• Bryce (guitar) experiments with tones and pedals until he finds something that sparks emotion, and that sound inspires the rest of us.
• Christian (drums) drives energy into every idea, making sure the rhythm keeps things exciting and fresh!
We also stay connected to the world outside the studio. We pull from our own lives, from heartbreaks and comebacks to silly moments with friends, so our music feels real. And we keep things playful — we’ll write in parking lots, on trips, even in the car on the way to a show, we test song ideas on social media, or film fun videos that remind us why we started this band in the first place.
Keeping creativity alive for us means never letting it get too serious or too lonely. We challenge each other, celebrate when something clicks, and trust the process even when it feels messy. That balance — collaboration, experimentation, and joy — is what keeps our creativity burning.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
We’re almostmine, a brand new band based in Tampa, Florida. What excites us most about what we do is creating music that feels like a soundtrack to real emotions. Our songs are flirty, emotional, and edgy, with an energy that keeps you hooked, but also with lyrics that hit home when you need them most.
What makes our project special is the way each of us brings something different to the table. Katie leads with her voice and social presence, Bryce drives the vision and guitar, Christian locks in the heartbeat on drums, and together we shape a brand that’s as visual as it is musical. Our identity leans into an edgy aesthetic—black and hot pink with our signature broken-heart logo—because we want our fans to instantly feel what almostmine stands for: passion, energy, and authenticity.
Right now, we’re focused on releasing our debut music. Our first single, “Cynical,” drops November 7, and it marks the start of a run of new releases every other month leading into our first EP. Behind the scenes, we’re also building content that lets people see more of who we are—raw rehearsal clips, creative visuals, and stories that connect the songs to real experiences.
This is only the beginning, and that’s what we love most. almostmine isn’t just a band—it’s a community we’re building from scratch, one song, one story, and one connection at a time.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three things have made the biggest impact on our journey so far:
1. Consistency.
Rehearsing every week, planning every release, and showing up even when it’s hard has been a game-changer. Momentum matters in music (and honestly in anything creative). Our advice: start small but stay consistent. Don’t wait for the “perfect” idea—show up, create, and refine as you go.
2. Collaboration.
Each of us brings different strengths—whether it’s writing, managing, or connecting online—and learning to trust each other’s roles has made us stronger as a band. For anyone starting out, don’t be afraid to lean on others. Always remember criticism is just another chance to grow. Surround yourself with people who complement your weaknesses and push your ideas further.
3. Adaptability.
Things rarely go exactly as planned, whether it’s deadlines, creative blocks, or budgets. Being flexible while keeping the bigger vision in mind has kept us moving forward. Our advice: treat challenges as opportunities to learn and adjust. The ability to pivot gracefully will keep your dream alive when things get messy.
At the end of the day, the journey is less about having it all figured out and more about building habits, finding your people, and being willing to grow.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Each other. As bandmates, we push one another to grow. When one of us hits a wall creatively or feels overwhelmed by the business side, someone else steps in with energy or perspective. As friends, we push each other to be the best people we can be. We laugh, share, and constantly communicate about everything, whether it be music or just life. That kind of accountability and encouragement has been essential.
We can’t leave out our community. The people who believe in us—friends, family, early supporters, and the ones who show up, comment on posts, and keep asking when the songs drop—remind us why we’re doing this. That kind of encouragement fuels us more than anything.
We’ve learned that success doesn’t happen in isolation. Surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, believe in you, and teach you is the fastest way to develop the skills and confidence you need to keep going.
