Meet Emily Hart

We were lucky to catch up with Emily Hart recently and have shared our conversation below.

Emily, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I think my resilience was born from necessity, from moments where there wasn’t another option but to figure it out. Becoming a single mom while rebuilding my life from the ground up taught me that strength doesn’t always look loud; sometimes it’s quiet, steady and found in the smallest daily choices. Showing up for my kids, myself and my work even when things felt uncertain.

A few years ago, I made the decision to completely start over – financially, emotionally and professionally. I didn’t have a safety net, but I had a vision. I built a career around creativity and storytelling, launched my own agency and began managing brands I genuinely believe in. Every setback pushed me to refine not just my skills, but my boundaries, my purpose and my ability to stay grounded in chaos.

My resilience now comes from knowing I’ve already survived harder things. It’s in the way I approach challenges with curiosity instead of fear – trusting that I can rebuild, reimagine and rise again, every single time.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a Toronto-based content creator and co-founder of Content Bank, a creative agency built around the idea of “content worth banking on.” We help brands show up consistently and creatively across platforms – blending strategy, storytelling and design to build connection and trust online.

Beyond Content Bank, I lead brand strategy for Soke Beauty, a luxury hydrogel skincare brand redefining at-home treatments and shaping the future of masks through clinically proven innovation and design. What ties all of my work together is a genuine love for storytelling – turning real moments and brand values into engaging, purposeful content that resonates.

Right now, I’m most excited about expanding Content Bank’s reach, building out new partnerships and collaborating with brands. You can start and start over at any age. If you believe you’re capable, you can and you will.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three most impactful qualities in my journey have been strength, resourcefulness and self-belief.

Strength has carried me through the hardest chapters. It’s what taught me that even when things fall apart, It will be okay. Resourcefulness came from learning to make the most out of what I had, whether that was time, tools or opportunities. And self-belief was the piece that tied everything together. The quiet confidence that grew from knowing I was capable and from having parents and friends in my corner who always reminded me of that when I needed it most.

For anyone early in their journey: don’t wait until you feel “ready.” Start now, start small and trust that you’ll learn what you need along the way. The gap between where you are and where you want to be closes every time you make a choice, even if it’s a small one.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

Honestly, I used to run away from my problems when I felt overwhelmed – ignore the things that needed to get done and hope they’d somehow sort themselves out. Now, I try to slow down and actually look at what’s in front of me. I ask myself: What needs to get done? What can be delegated? And how can I fill my cup first so I’m not running on empty?

Sometimes that means listening to a breathwork session by Kira Mae Kazuko, going for a walk, getting my favourite coffee or just taking a quiet moment to myself to reset. I’ve learned that avoiding things only makes the weight heavier, but facing them with a calm mind makes everything a lot easier.
