We recently connected with Aakansha Jagga and have shared our conversation below.
Aakansha, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
Overcoming and avoiding burnout starts with self-awareness. I make sure to listen to my energy levels and take intentional breaks before exhaustion hits. Balancing work, passion projects, and rest is key—sometimes stepping away is the most productive thing you can do.
I also set realistic expectations and focus on progress rather than perfection. Celebrating small wins, connecting with supportive peers, and practicing self-care—whether it’s exercise, meditation, or just downtime—helps me recharge.
Burnout is natural, but treating it as a signal rather than a failure allows you to reset, refocus, and continue your journey sustainably.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m Aakansha Jagga, founder of Joulewise, a platform dedicated to making renewable energy accessible and actionable for communities around the world. My work sits at the intersection of AI and sustainable energy, creating solutions that help individuals and organizations make smarter, greener energy choices.
What excites me most is turning complex technology into practical tools that empower people to make a real difference in their communities. Beyond technology, I’m deeply passionate about community engagement—I believe exploring people and communities is one of the most rewarding experiences. I’ve led workshops and campaigns that connect people with renewable energy solutions and raise awareness about sustainability challenges. Seeing knowledge paired with action create tangible change is incredibly inspiring.
Looking ahead, we’re focusing on beta testing with various campuses and community leaders, learning from their perspectives, and adapting our solutions to better serve people. For us, the people and their experience are at the core of everything we do. You can connect with us and follow our journey on our website and socials @joulewise.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey:
Fearlessness to explore unconventional paths – stepping outside the crowd and trying things differently helped me grow beyond my past self.
Learning to take up space unapologetically – self-validation is far more powerful than seeking approval from others.
Trusting my own pace and process – every journey is unique. Your progress is yours alone, and it’s meant to be different.
My advice to those early in their journey: don’t rush or compare yourself to others. Celebrate small wins, be patient with yourself, and keep showing up even when it’s uncomfortable. You don’t need permission to shine—just the courage to begin.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Overwhelm is a very common feeling. Scrolling through LinkedIn or seeing all the “congratulations” posts can cause stress and steal focus from your goals. It’s okay to lag behind and feel overwhelmed—but the key is to use this feeling as motivation rather than a distraction.
I take a step back, breathe, and break things into small, manageable tasks, focusing on what I can control right now. I remind myself that progress isn’t always visible online—it’s happening, and it matters. My advice: pause, reset, and trust your own journey. Celebrate your own growth rather than measuring it against others. Courage and consistency beat comparison every time.
