Honestly, my resilience comes from God. There are moments when motivation runs low, but it’s my faith that grounds me and keeps me going. I often think about the millions of people in the world who struggle with their skin and the impact it can have on their self-esteem. Knowing that Lab Roots Skincare has the potential to help them — not just with their skin health, but with their confidence — that’s what drives me to keep pushing forward, even on the hard days.

Lab Roots Skincare is a science-led skincare brand built to help people feel confident in their skin — naturally. Born from a deep passion for wellness and the power of clinical science, the brand stands for more than just beauty. It’s about creating products that support real skin health, boost confidence, and empower people to show up as their best selves.
What sets Lab Roots apart is our commitment to clean, effective skincare with integrity. We combine nature’s intelligence with evidence-based formulations to create solutions for people who have often felt overlooked by the beauty industry. The most exciting part of this journey is witnessing the transformation in our customers — not just in their skin, but in how they carry themselves. When someone tells us their skin has cleared, or they finally feel comfortable without makeup, it reaffirms why this work matters.
Currently, we’re expanding our line to address more specific concerns like sensitivity, hyperpigmentation, and acne-prone skin. We’re also developing educational content to help our community make informed, confident choices about what they put on their skin.
Lab Roots is more than a skincare brand — it’s a movement toward prioritizing skin health, and feeling empowered in your own skin.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back — even though we’re still in the early stages of our journey — there are a few key things that have made a real impact so far.
First, staying active and consistent on social media has helped us build awareness, connect with our audience, and communicate what makes Lab Roots Skincare unique. It’s one of the most accessible tools for early-stage brands to tell their story and show up authentically.
Second, participating in events and getting out to meet people in person has been incredibly valuable. Whether it’s pop-ups, markets, or community events, face-to-face conversations build real trust and allow us to get direct feedback from customers. That kind of interaction is hard to replicate online.
Lastly, staying in the know about skincare news and industry trends has helped us stay relevant and informed. Understanding ingredient science, regulations, and what customers are really looking for allows us to create better products and be part of a larger conversation in the skincare world.
For anyone just starting out, my advice would be:
Show up consistently, even when things feel slow.
Talk to your audience — not at them. Listen to what they’re saying.
And never stop learning. Whether it’s reading, researching, or talking to people in your field, staying curious will always keep you ahead.
This journey takes time, but every small step adds up.
