We recently connected with Toni Thomas and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Toni , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I think my resilience is rooted in my lineage and the wellness rituals I have developed for myself over years of practice. As a child of immigrant parents, I witnessed firsthand what sheer will and determination, hard work, and commitment meant in real life. Through that witnessing, however, I learned the conditionings of sacrifice for small gain. That worth is attached to financial independence, and that purpose and fulfillment in life were luxuries meant for other people. These early experiences allowed me to be ambitious, strategic, and hardworking, but not healthy, happy, or whole.
As I reached 30, I could feel the unraveling beginning in the falsehoods my early condition urged me to build. You could work hard and still not be acknowledged or appreciated, you could be wealthy and lonely, and you could sacrifice and receive nothing in return as circumstances continue to take from you willingly.
You begin to see that the stories we tell ourselves are a reflection of what we think we should be or should want, but aren’t really rooted in true alignment or knowing of self. As a result, they are extremely difficult to maintain when challenged or stripped away. That is where systems of wellness can step in to show you a way back to your path.
As a woman, we are constantly conditioned to ignore anything that cannot be logically expressed or explained. We are denied our intuition and, from a very young encouraged to ignore it, suppress it, and dismiss it. As a result, I believe, we lose the calibration to the alignment of our inner being, our energy, spirit, soul, whatever you prefer to refer to it as. This loss causes us to hang on to people and circumstances that are, in fact, harmful to us. Ego convinces us we have to fix what we didn’t break for fear of being seen as less of a woman or worse, a failure.
Resilience is born in the rising, I believe. Failures in life are milestones of growth if you look for the medicine within the unfolding, but we are often not taught the practices we can employ to help up get back up.
Over the years, I have discovered that what we all need is a system of self-care tools that allow us to disrupt, reflect, and begin something new. For years, journaling was helpful, learning something new gave direction, but what was lacking was the underlying story I was often avoiding that was in fact the key to true transformation.
As I got older, I began to understand that the energy and spirit of a person is just as important at the mental state of someone going through difficult times. We need space for release and reflection, but we also need tiny rituals to reconnect us to our higher selves. We can’t get back up if we believe we should stay down.
And so I started to explore building a toolkit of practices that I could pull from when times get tough, and often, the small routines are grounding enough to eventually help you make the bigger shifts rooted in a stronger foundation than a band-aid type solution.
For me, it looks like slow mornings, a brewed cup of coffee, meditation, journaling, tarot and 1:1 intentional connection.
But maybe most importantly, how to understand my own energy type to recognize future strategies that can help me in the future.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a healer who comes from a background in Interior Design and Construction Project Management, who found healing and purpose in the wellness industry after becoming a licensed esthetician and studying a variety of energy-based practices ranging from Reiki to Human Design.
I am currently evolving from my practice as a holistic esthetician for sensitive skin into directly guiding women seeking to reconnect to themselves through self-care rituals.
I believe we each have an energy practice we can discover and work with to realign with our center, strengthen our intuitive connection, and build a unique set of rituals that evolve with us over time.
The important part is starting to feel an immediate shift, today, that you can build on day by day, not remaining stuck in a cycle that is not serving you.
If any of the above resonates, we can work one-on-one to complete an energy type reading, hold space for what you’re journeying through, and develop a custom practice for you to implement today. As we work together, we can expand the circle to 3-4 like-minded women where you can find community to be yourself, speak your truths, and gain shared wisdom with women who may not know you but get you.
Over time, you will develop the skills to recognize your own practices that help you and find more specific guides to support you in the exploration of them. This entire process is around empowerment and embodiment. I am to be here for you for a season, not a lifetime.
Practices we’ll explore include self-care, skincare rituals, self-love actions, worth reflection, and unconscious conditioning.
Your energy type based on your birth date and time, for an understanding of your theme for this lifetime and your strategy for navigating it. Experiments with these elements until we find a practice that fits you, and subconscious dives to help calm our nervous systems and reprogram the stories that were never who we were anyway.
We can work virtually or at small curated events for in-person experiences, hopefully in a city near you soon!
What is most exciting about this work for me is that I know Women create incredible things, birth magical humans, and make a better world when they are embodied and rooted in their connection to self. Facilitating and supporting this strengthens me and inspires me to create, so it’s really all a circle, as it should be.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think three key things to remember for success in any endeavor would be to develop a true knowledge of active listening, compassion, and knowledge of self.
Listening actively, creates spaces were people feel seen and heard, and is more likely to lead to better collaboration, relationships and aligned outcomes for all involved.
Compassion goes beyond just feeling for another person but also to try to understand where they are coming from. What experiences have they had before their present interaction with you, and could this help shape your interaction with them. Could you step into their shoes and find a commonality between you? This also allows people to be seen and often to soften and meet you at a higher vibration as a result.
Self-knowledge is so key; we all come to experiences, relationships with conditioning, some of which we are conscious of and some of which we aren’t. It’s our job to take action from places aligned in the knowledge that it’s not a reaction to some unexplored wound or story. I think the more we all work from this place, the faster we will discover that we don’t have to work against one another; there is literally more than enough to go around forever. Our experiences in life would be infinitely better if we all worked with what we are carrying, acknowledge why it’s there and when it served us, but affirm that we don’t need that story any longer; we can write new ones.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with other wellness practitioners, spaceholders, and guides. If you center women in your audience, love travel, and curated designed spaces, let’s connect and build experiences with each other. I’m currently looking to host small gatherings in the U.S and Mexico through 2026.
