Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rene Benton. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Rene , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
For me it started very early . Rejection builds character and soft men create hard times. I failed many times at things I truly desired for myself. With that being said ; I had to figure out how to accomplish smaller goals that leads to bigger goals . I liken it to building a skyscraper from the ground up.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am primarily a touring guitarist . At times I can spend up to 10 months out a fiscal year out the country backing up various artist. To date I have been around the globe over 30 times, been to 42 states and over 70 countries and 6 continents working on the 7th. In between that nurturing a solo career has it’s share of challenges. But, anything worth having is worth working towards.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Being an active listener, Being able to be coachable, and being patient with myself and others. No matter what journey one decides to take you must have a high level of self discipline.
If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
Not much different than what I am doing now; striving life a live that pleasing to God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit
