We caught up with the brilliant and insightful William Garcia a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have William with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic was shaped by watching my family and from my grandparents who helped guide my values and moral compass. I grew up seeing the value of showing up every day, doing what needs to be done and taking pride in even the smallest tasks. That example taught me that no matter the job; it deserves my best effort. I carry that forward by approaching every task with honesty, pride and the commitment to give it my all. For me, work is not just about finishing something, it is about doing it right and leaving behind something I can be proud of. The end result is a reflection of myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Growing up in New Mexico, I was surrounded by the vibrant colors and culture that make this state so unique. That environment sparked my early love for Art, where I explored drawing, painting and later on in my college career, classic print making as ways to express myself. Those creative roots have stayed with me, shaping how I see the world and how I approach challenges.
Life has also brought me the privilege and responsibility of raising my son as a single father and from the start I was committed to giving him the best life possible. That commitment shaped my drive and focus in every part of my career.
Now, with Frios, I have taken a step to bet on myself and build something new- not just for myself, but for the community that has always inspired me. Albuquerque’s culture of resilience, creativity and connection has influenced me deeply and it is the same spirit I want to share with Frios. To me, this journey is about blending hard work, family and the community into something that makes life a little sweeter for everyone.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The best advice I can give is that a strong work ethic starts with pride in what you do; no matter how big or small the task. I have always believed that when you commit to giving your best effort, you build trust, confidence and momentum. Be honest, be consistent and do not cut corners. The habits you build today shape the opportunities you will have tomorrow. Most importantly, remember that hard work is not just about getting ahead, it is about creating something you can be proud of and setting an example for others.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
If I knew I only had a decade left, I would spend most of it focusing on what truly matters: quality time with the people I love. Recently, I have rediscovered that experiences, connections and shared moments hold far more value than material achievements. I would make sure to be fully present with my son, family and friends; celebrating the little things and creating memories that last. At the same time, I would continue to pursue my passions, like expanding Frios in my community, but always in a way that balances work with time for the people and experiences that give this life its meaning.
