We recently connected with Artreice Westmoreland and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Artreice with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I got my work ethic by watching my granny run two businesses. My granny had a cafeteria and a day care. My granny believed that you shall paved your own in society and leave a mark behind when you pass away.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of 2. I attended a special school from pre-school to 3rd grade. In the 4th grade, I started public school and graduated high school and college. I went to college for degrees for office administration and business administration.

After graduating college, I was not able to find a “regular” job because people will not hire me because of my disability. So, I then, decided to start a greeting card business. That business lasted for a few months. After my greeting card business, I started volunteering in hospitals and started in direct sales and network marketing.

In 2016,I hired a coach to help with my direct sales business. We become friends and in July of 2017, she hired me as a virtual assistant and I have been working with here ever since.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The most important qualities that was beneficial to my journey is to always be nice and kind to people, always be professional and take your feelings out of it when working with the public.

Working with people, you get different personalities and people have bad days and good days. Keeping these things in mind will help move through life easy and let things roll of your back. You can improve these qualities by looking how you treat your friends and family ~ the people you love the most.
