We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Wendy Meyers. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Wendy below.
Hi Wendy, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Over the years of growing up, watching my father work 12 hour days growing his own business I realized early on, you had to live and breathe to make it

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Real estate has always been a true passion of mine. Back in my college days, I often struggled with what direction to take, but I knew one thing for certain—I loved architecture, blueprinting, and the excitement of watching a home come to life. The layers, the process, and the final outcome fascinated me, and that passion naturally led me into real estate in 2005.
After five years in the industry, I realized early on that my ultimate goal was to become a broker and one day own my own brokerage. Determined to achieve that vision, I dedicated myself to five years of broker school and proudly earned my broker’s license in 2014.
After achieving my Broker’s License in 2014, I also earned my GRI designation in 2014—one of the highest and most respected credentials in the real estate industry. With both the knowledge and experience I had gained, I was ready to bring my vision to life.
In October 2015, after much planning and preparation, I proudly opened Welcome Home Sales & Rentals. Building my own brokerage was not only a dream fulfilled but also an opportunity to create a business rooted in integrity, client care, and a true passion for helping people find their place to call home.

Along the way, I also achieved my GRI designation (2014), one of the highest and most respected credentials in real estate.
With that foundation, I launched Welcome Home Sales & Rentals in October 2015. I started with just myself and about 20 rental properties, determined to grow one step at a time. Through hard work, persistence, and an unwavering commitment to client care, the company has grown tremendously. Today, in 2025, Welcome Home manages nearly 700 properties and has expanded to a strong team of 8 staff members and 6 licensed agents—all dedicated to serving our community with the same passion and integrity that started it all.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Communication
Time Management
And organization
Being on top of every properties situation, condition and management is key in what we do. Without grooming every single property,

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Obstacles in this business can be life-altering, and unfortunately, they often end with difficult outcomes. One of the hardest parts of my job is handling situations where tenants are unable to pay their rent. When that happens, we have to follow through with contractual obligations, which sometimes means filing for eviction—something we face about once a month.
Even then, I always give tenants every opportunity to pay and stay. In some cases, they are able to catch up, but more often than not, they simply cannot, and the process moves forward through the courts if necessary. It’s a vicious revolving door, and I truly hate this part of the job.
