Meet Fiona Roberts

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Fiona Roberts. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Fiona , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I truly believe my purpose was God-given. At 35, I was a young mom when I was diagnosed with ovarian and endometrial cancer. Walking through chemo and surgery was one of the hardest seasons of my life, but it was also where God began to show me the deeper meaning behind my pain.

As I searched for ways to heal and rebuild my strength, I discovered the lymphatic system. It felt like a door God opened for me — one I never would have walked through without that struggle. Learning how to support my own body’s healing gave me hope, and I knew in my heart this wasn’t just about me.

I felt called to go back into massage therapy, travel the country to learn from leaders in lymphatic health, and create Lympha Spa & Massage as a place of restoration. For me, this isn’t just a business — it’s a ministry. It’s where I get to serve women, help them feel healthy and beautiful again, and remind them that their healing matters.

My purpose was born in suffering, but God transformed it into something bigger than myself — a mission to care for others and share hope through healing.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the founder of Lympha Spa & Massage, Iowa’s first lymphatic-focused wellness spa. What makes us unique is that we go beyond relaxation — we specialize in lymphatic health, recovery, and proactive wellness for women navigating cancer recovery, post-surgical healing, lymphedema, lipedema, and chronic swelling.

As a young mom and cancer survivor, I know how overwhelming healing can feel. That experience inspired me to create a space where women — especially cancer patients and survivors — can feel truly supported and cared for.

At Lympha Spa, we provide lymphatic drainage massage, post-surgical recovery care, lymphedema and lipedema support, thermography, and holistic detox therapies like Halo Sauna, PEMF, and pressotherapy. We’re also bringing in Aspen After Surgery technology, making us the first in Iowa to offer this advanced recovery treatment.

What excites me most is seeing women walk out with hope again — whether it’s less swelling, more mobility, or the confidence to keep going in their healing journey. Beyond the spa, I founded Heart of Lympha, a nonprofit offering free massages to cancer patients in need, because giving back is part of my mission.

My vision is to make Des Moines the home of lymphatic wellness — where cancer patients, survivors, and women of all stages of life can find recovery, education, and empowerment to feel healthy and beautiful again.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that impacted my journey most were resilience, faith, and empathy.

Resilience came from walking through cancer and learning to rebuild my life and health from the ground up. Faith has been my anchor — reminding me that even pain can have a purpose when I trust God with my journey. Empathy has been the heart of my work; I can sit with a cancer patient, a post-surgical client, or a woman struggling with lymphedema, and not just treat their body, but truly see and support them.

My advice for anyone early in their journey is to cultivate these qualities daily. Don’t run from challenges — let them build your resilience. Keep learning, because your knowledge becomes someone else’s hope. And never underestimate the power of compassion — it will open more doors than any skill alone.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Collaboration with the medical community is essential to the work I do. At Lympha Spa & Massage, we specialize in lymphatic health, post-surgical recovery, and support for cancer patients, lymphedema, and lipedema — areas where many doctors and surgeons are seeking trusted partners for their patients.

I’ve been honored to collaborate with nurse practitioners, integrative health clinics, and surgeons who value a more holistic approach to recovery. Together, we’re able to give patients not only medical treatment, but also the lymphatic care, detox support, and education they need for long-term healing.

I would love to connect with more surgeons, oncologists, and integrative health providers who want their patients to have the best possible recovery outcomes. By working side by side, we can bridge the gap between traditional medicine and proactive wellness — offering hope, relief, and improved quality of life to the people who need it most.
