Meet Meline Gasparyan

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Meline Gasparyan . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Meline, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
In my career in fashion and styling my purpose is my clients men or woman. Dressing them to make them feel good inside and out makes me feel like I did my job. When you dress good you feel good, it’s empowering for me and my clients. Finding the right pieces and style for my clients lifestyle to make their day start faster & motivated is what keep me going. It give me purpose to be able to help others and be apart of their lifestyle. Fashion is more than just clothes, with each person’s individual style it’s like art. Dressing correctly for the office, for events, meetings etc gives you that boots of confidence and when your have confidence you can accomplish anything!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Meline I am a fashion designer/stylist with a background degree in design from FIDM one of the best fashion schools. I opened my first fashion business at 26 called JHENYA, a woman’s boutique in Westfield malls (Westfield Valenica Mall & Westfiled Topanga) I was able to grow my business into online as well. With my brand I met so many wonderful women and it was such a honor to be apart of their special occasions or daily wear. I grew my business doing pops with celebrities, styling for tv shows, being able to dress so many top influences. It was an amazing ride for me then covid hit and everything changed my whole world I knew had to be re-routed. I kept my online store but unfortunately had to close my store front since malls weren’t that busy anymore. So I spent one year or two creating my Styling business, I created my own website and built it myself with blogging for Preciousmel and services that offers Digital Styling since the world became more digital and on the internet I used that to my advantage. With a background in styling for magazines, celebrities I was confident in my new venture. Now I have beautiful women/men I style digitally straight from my website they schedule a session and once I do my consultation I virtually shop for them. I create mood boards and style it together and have direct links they shop from at the comfort of their home. We all get busy and sometimes never have time for ourselves so I make their closet experience easy, seamless and fun to fit their lifestyle.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I have learned so much as an entrepreneur, I have mad so many mistake but they were MY mistakes and I learned from them. One valuable lesson I learned was to be obsessed with everything I do but also not get too attached because at the end of the day it’s just business. I say that because when covid happened and I was forced to lose everything, I took it very bad, my business was my baby I put everything and all of me into it but it messed with my confidence, I struggled mentally and emotionally. So I learned to have boundaries in my emotions because end of the day my mental health and well being was more important. I also learned to step back and accept what happened and that it’s wasn’t over, I didn’t fail I just needed to re-route my journey. Now I have a more clear vision and more motivated then ever. So to anyone reading this if you have a plan or business and things do t go exactly as you visioned it it’s okay take time off step back and re evaluate what’s the next best thing for you. You got this! Nothing is a fail it’s always a lesson! So keep shining.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I’m overwhelmed I take the day off or time off. I learned it’s important to have a clear mind you’ll make better decisions and choices. Nothing is wrong with stepping back to take a breather or re group it’ll only make you stronger and better. When we panic in an overwhelmed state of mind we make wrong decisions then it’s double the work to fix it. So take the time to understand the situation and more forward.
