Meet Ciara Lewis

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ciara Lewis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ciara, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I attribute my strong work ethic to the remarkable women in my family: my grandmother, my mother, and my aunt. From a young age, I observed these three women tirelessly balancing work and education. My grandmother dedicated herself to lengthy 12 to 14-hour shifts at General Electric, yet she still managed to prepare delicious dinners and spend quality time with her family. During the week, she assigned me chores in exchange for an allowance, and on weekends, we would visit Dollar Tree or Walmart, where I had the choice to spend or save my earnings.

My mother, who juggled two demanding jobs—both in a factory—never failed to make time for me. Despite her exhausting schedule, she played with me, assisted with my homework, prepared me for school, and tucked me in at night, all without revealing any signs of fatigue. Our weekends were filled with roller skating adventures and delightful tea parties whenever she had a little more time off. Even when she wasn’t working two jobs, she was constantly pursuing her education and furthering her career.

My aunt also committed herself to long hours at Fruit of the Loom, working 12 to 14 hours a day and commuting nearly an hour each way. Yet, she still prioritized her fitness, rising early to go to the gym and spending meaningful moments with me. Eventually, she too managed to balance work and furthering her education.

Their unwavering dedication has instilled in me a relentless pursuit of hard work and balance in all aspects of life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that have significantly shaped my journey are honesty, integrity, and resilience. In addition, the essential skills that have propelled my progress include active listening, problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail.

For emerging entrepreneurs, the most effective way to cultivate these skill sets is through consistent practice, observing others, identifying your niche and strengths, and recognizing that every interaction involves people in some capacity. Therefore, it is imperative to build trust and master the art of professional communication.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
