Meet Lou Affirms

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lou Affirms. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lou, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

Let’s be real — the world can be terrifying. But for every terror, there’s something equally awe-inspiring. Every pain point is a signpost, gently (or not so gently) steering us away from despair and toward our well-deserved joy. I stay optimistic because despair depletes, but joy regenerates. It’s the most renewable energy I know.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My work as an Affirmation Artist is both a lifestyle and a calling. Through LouAffirms, I use media, marketing, and mentorship to shine a spotlight on the communities, brands, and individuals who bring real beauty into the world.

You’ll find me writing press releases and stories that get picked up locally and shared globally, hosting conversations on radio and TV, and creating digital content that amplifies awesome work from home to the world. I also partner with incredible nonprofits whose missions move mountains — and I help them reach the audiences they deserve.

At its heart, LouAffirms is a one-stop shop for authentic amplification. It’s about making sure the good work happening around us gets seen, celebrated, and supported. Learn more at louaffirms.weebly.com.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

For me, it all comes down to confidence, patience, and grace.

Once I released ego and started exploring a bliss-driven purpose, I realized I could confidently stand by my choices — because they’re rooted in my mission to spread and amplify affirmation. That kind of confidence doesn’t come from perfection; it comes from purpose.

Patience has been just as important. When you’re purpose-driven, you can often see the vision long before your community does. Not everyone will understand your intentions right away — and that’s okay. It takes time to bring people along on the journey.

And finally, grace. When the wrong people fall away — and some will — let them go with love. We’re all learning, growing, and doing the best we can. The more you can meet yourself and others with grace, the stronger you’ll become.

My advice? Flow confidently from one challenge to the next. Every experience, even the tough ones, expands your capacity for purpose.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

I was truly blessed in who I was born to. My parents taught me early on that my way didn’t have to look like everyone else’s to be right. They always encouraged me to find what worked for me — to experiment, explore, and trust my instincts.

Because of that freedom, I became an out-of-the-box thinker, a creative problem-solver, and someone who can always find the silver lining. Their belief in my individuality gave me the courage to live authentically and build a life that feels true.
