We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Margo Gladys. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Margo below.
Hi Margo, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
For me, self-care and performance are inseparable — you simply can’t perform at your best if you don’t feel your best. That’s why I teach performance from within.
My self-care is rooted in self-awareness. Every day begins with checking in: How do I feel, and what do I need today? That awareness guides everything else.
My mornings start mindfully — warm water with lemon, a few minutes of Qigong to awaken the body, breathwork, and meditation. This takes literally 20 minutes or less. Then while I have breakfast and coffee, I reflect on my to-do list and what I need to accomplish that day. Based on that I try to plan what self-care activities for that day. This helps me keep myself accountable.
Movement is a big part of my day, but I approach it intuitively — some days it’s strength training or HIIT, other days Pilates or Barre (mostly with Youtube or on my own). Throughout the day I practice short Qigong breaks like “Shaking the Tree” to release tension and reset my energy.
Evenings are for slowing down: gentle yoga or stretching, gratitude, breathwork, and sometimes foam rolling.
Of course, not every day is perfect, but consistency is what matters. These practices have completely transformed my effectiveness — I have more focus, energy, and stay calm under pressure. It’s what allows me to show up fully for my clients and help them do the same.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a Holistic Wellness and Performance Coach and Consultant who helps high-achievers master stress, prevent burnout, and restore their energy so they can perform at their best — sustainably. My work bridges ancient Eastern wisdom with modern science and performance psychology. Through Qigong, breathwork, mindfulness, and evidence-based coaching, I help clients shift from exhaustion and overwhelm to clarity, balance, and vitality.
What makes my approach unique is that it’s both practical and deeply human. I’ve lived both worlds — twenty years in a high-pressure corporate environment while simultaneously healing from a serious accident and chronic health challenges. That journey taught me that success and well-being aren’t opposing forces — they actually fuel each other.
I’m especially passionate about helping busy professionals who feel they “don’t have time” discover that small, intentional shifts can completely transform their energy, focus, and quality of life.
Right now, I’m excited to be launching affordable, accessible online mindful movement classes (Qigong, yoga, and breathwork) designed for those who want to feel more grounded and connected — even on the busiest days. I’m also introducing an online Yang Sheng Workshop Series, inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine, focusing on seasonal lifestyle practices to support energy, immunity, and balance throughout the year.
Also, I’m launching a YouTube channel dedicated to holistic wellness for busy people — real talk about burnout prevention, energy management, and sustainable self-care. I’ll be sharing short, actionable practices and honest conversations about what it really takes to stay healthy and energized in a demanding world.
My mission is simple: to help people thrive under pressure and live with more vitality, presence, and ease — no matter what life brings.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my 20+ years of personal wellness exploration — and 12 years of doing this work professionally — the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been curiosity, consistency, and self-compassion.
First, genuine curiosity. Staying open-minded and eager to learn has allowed me to explore a wide range of modalities — from nutrition and breathwork to Qigong and positive psychology — and integrate what truly works. Curiosity keeps wellness fresh and evolving instead of rigid or dogmatic.
Second, consistency. Many people know what to do but struggle to do it consistently enough to see results. Transformation doesn’t come from intensity; it comes from small, repeated actions.
And third, positive psychology — which for me encompasses gratitude, self-acceptance, and self-love. Our mindset shapes everything. When we treat ourselves with kindness and believe that change is possible, our habits and energy follow. A positive attitude isn’t about ignoring difficulties; it’s about believing in the possibility of growth despite them.
For those early in their journey, my advice is simple: be kind to yourself, stay curious, and stay consistent. Growth isn’t linear, but self-awareness and small daily actions compound into lasting change.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel like the world is collapsing on my shoulders — as we all do at times — I start with self-compassion. I pause to acknowledge what I’m feeling without judgment and remind myself that I’m not alone — that countless others in this very moment are feeling something similar. That awareness softens the pressure.
From there, I shift into gratitude — even for small things like a warm cup of tea or a moment of quiet. Gratitude grounds me in what’s working rather than what’s missing. I might listen to uplifting music, step outside for a walk in nature, or move my body in a way that feels good to release tension and boost endorphins.
I also turn to Eastern philosophy, especially the Tao Te Ching and Buddhist teachings, which remind me that everything passes and that life was never meant to be all smooth and rosy. That wisdom helps me return to balance — calm, grounded, and ready to take the next step forward.
