Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Denyelle Nelson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Denyelle , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from a long line of strong women — my mother, my grandmother, and my great-grandmother. I’ve watched the women in my family push through every season of life with grace, faith, and determination. It’s in my blood. I like to believe that the strength I carry was passed down through generations of women who refused to give up no matter what life handed them.
Along with that foundation, my resilience is deeply rooted in my faith, my purpose, and the vision I hold for my life and my brand. I know that what I’m building is bigger than me, and that belief keeps me grounded. Even when things get hard, I remind myself that I come from women who made a way — and I’m continuing that legacy through Netboxx and the woman I’ve become.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder of Netboxx Cosmetics and NBX Hair, two brands created to empower women to embrace their bold, authentic selves through beauty and self-expression. What started as my personal passion for makeup and style has grown into a brand that encourages women to rewrite their own story — to stop dimming their light and start showing up as the most unapologetic version of themselves.
At Netboxx Cosmetics, we specialize in bold, luxurious shades — from matte lipsticks to highlighters and palettes — designed for women who love to stand out. Each product is more than makeup; it’s confidence, self-expression, and a reminder that beauty is about being you.
With NBX Hair, I wanted to expand that same energy into the hair world — creating fine, voluminous, high-quality human hair wigs and extensions that make women feel just as powerful and glamorous in their everyday lives as they do during their boldest moments.
What excites me most about what I do is seeing women glow up—from the inside out. When she puts on her lipstick or hair and that confidence shines through, it reminds me why I started—because I am that woman. Seeing my brand help others feel beautiful and unstoppable is what truly fuels me.
Right now, I’m in the process of rebranding Netboxx Cosmetics into a more elevated, luxury experience that reflects the strength and elegance of the women who wear it. I’m also continuing to grow NBX Hair, expanding into new styles, textures, and experiences for women who love high-quality, expressive beauty.
For me, this journey isn’t just about selling products — it’s about building a movement of women who are unafraid to love boldly, live glamorously, and be unapologetically themselves.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience has been the foundation of everything. There have been moments where things didn’t go as planned — financially, emotionally, or mentally — but I learned to keep showing up anyway. My advice to anyone starting out is this: don’t let temporary challenges make you forget the bigger vision. Every setback is just a setup for you to grow stronger.
Adaptability has also been key. In business, things change — trends shift, finances fluctuate, and sometimes you have to pivot your plans. I’ve had to downsize, rebrand, and restructure more than once, and each time it made my brand stronger. My advice is to stay flexible and open-minded. Don’t be afraid to evolve; sometimes redirection is exactly what your purpose needs to grow.
Finally, continuous learning has helped me move forward when I didn’t have all the answers. I became a student of my own business — learning about marketing, branding, finances, and leadership. For anyone early in their journey, don’t be afraid to learn, research, and ask questions. The more you grow your knowledge, the more confident you become in your vision.
Each of these qualities has taught me that success isn’t about perfection — it’s about persistence, faith, and being willing to grow through every season.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Without a doubt, my husband, Donnie, he has been the most influential person in helping me overcome challenges and grow as a businesswoman. He’s big on business, branding, and strategy — and he’s always pushed me to think bigger.
He introduced me to books like “Key Person of Influence” by Michael Maloney and shares powerful business podcasts that challenge my mindset and help me see things from a new perspective. Whenever I’ve doubted myself or felt stuck, he’s been the one reminding me to stay focused, stay sharp, and keep learning.
His guidance has helped me strengthen my business foundation and sharpen my strategy, but more importantly, he’s taught me how to believe in the vision even when things get hard. Having someone who sees your potential and helps you nurture it makes all the difference.
