Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mamen Y José. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Mamen y José, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

We believe that nothing comes easy, so we know we have to work very hard to achieve our goals.
Our job allow us to travel, to feed our family and do the things we like, but we know that nothing last forever so bad things come to an end. Life is just one so we do not want to waste it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

We are two people who found each other after a long struggle, whose passion is to travel when our responsibilities allow us to.
We plan our trips with great care, leaving no stone unturned and eager to discover what does not appear in other guidebooks.
We currently have a website where we publish all our trips with itineraries, places to find prices, what it has cost us, what we recommend and what we do not.
It is not for profit, but we would like to receive feedback.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

You need enthusiasm, patience and perseverance. Without these qualities, it is difficult to produce such a detailed guide as ours. It is suitable for all budgets but not for people who are not very athletic. We do everything on foot and do not visit museums, but we do visit churches because we are passionate about their architecture.
It’s not an easy path, so don’t give up too quickly. Fight for your goals, because ideally you’re doing it for yourself, and that effort will be rewarded.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

We know we are not experts in the field, but we are very determined and eager to live life to the fullest. We would love to be sponsored simply to help pay for a website, as we currently have one for free, or if anyone needs a travel guide and does not have the time or inclination, we would be delighted to help. We would not rule out the possibility of being asked to try out trips, experiences, hotel stays and review them, as we are also passionate about giving our humble opinion.
