Meet Flanagan Brassfield

We were lucky to catch up with Flanagan Brassfield recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Flanagan, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

Overall, my optimism comes from personal experience and a deep-rooted belief in the possibility of a better future. Every person’s journey is different, and I’ve seen firsthand how circumstances can shift in an instant – how the process of growth & healing sheds light on the progress that can come from the most unexpected places. Being a creative has taught me that nothing is fixed; the trajectory of the world can change at any moment, and often, that change starts small — with an idea or personal perspective, a desire for change, which is why I’ve molded my brain to be as knowledgeable, open, and resilient as it can be. Working coherently is the energy you put out into the world that you believe you should get back. By this, I mean the energy you carry around with you daily is what you attract. When you walk through life with a sense of intention and integrity, you naturally align with people and opportunities that reflect the same energy. It’s not about being relentlessly positive, but about being authentic and grounded in a mindset that believes in growth, connection, and possibility. People respond to energy, often more than words. If you’re generous with your light, others feel it, and in time, that energy tends to return to you in unexpected ways. It’s a cycle: the more you commit to showing up as your best self, the more the world responds with chances to expand & heal. It all starts with what you choose to carry and share each day!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Im a 22 year old model and actor currently living in Los Angeles, CA. I’m originally from a small town in Wisconsin where I fell in love with theater. My personality has always been outgoing growing up, and theater was a therapeutic and exciting way to showcase not only my talents but also helped as a form of expression to wear fun wardrobe, makeup, and play characters different from my personality. As I grew a bit older, I didn’t lose my love for theater at all, but my gears shifted towards camera acting. I fell in love with it so much that I decided to go to NY for a year and a half right out of High school to pursue my Bachelors of Fine Arts in acting for camera and film. The degree was an accelerated course so I did a year and a half in both NY and LA. Amidst my journeys I found a lot of unknown confidence and was able to connect with agents in both the Modeling & Acting world who strive to help me be the best that I can be. Currently, I’m always looking for new projects and people to collaborate with, feel free to reach out to me on my social media!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My passion isn’t fleeting; in fact, it’s burning, the kind of feeling that keeps you fueled at night, constantly learning, and a refusal to settle for mediocracy. This drive brings depth and intention to everything I create. Being personable has helped me socialize with others who share similar stories and ideas, which is a huge being a creative, being able to network and make art with other aspiring artists. My determination acts as an anchor to keep me focused through setbacks and rejection. Together, these qualities form a foundation that others can recognize, not just as success, but as something real and attainable. For those coming up in the industry, I want to be a living reminder that talent alone isn’t enough; it’s the energy you bring, the relationships you nurture, and the consistency of your drive that sets you apart.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

Parents don’t get enough credit in general. My parents have always made their kids their number one priority, and I am always blessed to have the support system that I do. Throughout my journey in the industry & in general, before I set out to find myself, my mom & dad have always supported my endeavors & had my back. However, it hasn’t always been pretty; every kid has opposing views from their parents at some point, and it’s a part of growing up. But the number one thing, they always did no matter what, was listen. They never used my mistakes as weapons, but rather as stepping stones, allowing failure to become a catalyst for growth rather than shame. This support didn’t always come through “grand gestures” either; sometimes, it’s the quiet decision to understand rather than judge. But, I’ve learned to understand that true guidance isn’t about agreement, but compassion, patience, and the willingness to meet each other where we are. The best thing we can do, not just with parents but with anyone, is to genuinely listen, to try and grasp the heart behind someone’s intentions, and to lead and be led with openness rather than ego.
