Meet Alana Dent

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alana Dent. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Alana, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from God and from everything I’ve had to overcome — including surviving domestic abuse. That experience broke me in ways I never imagined, but it also rebuilt me into someone stronger, wiser, and more compassionate. I learned that resilience isn’t about pretending to be okay; it’s about trusting God to help you heal piece by piece and rediscover who you are beyond the pain.

When I finally walked away, I promised myself that I would never let brokenness define me. My faith became my foundation, and I started using my story to help others find their voice. That’s what led to my platform, Restoring Confidence, Rebuilding Lives. Through it, I’ve been able to turn what was once my hardest chapter into someone else’s roadmap for hope.

My resilience comes from knowing that every storm I’ve survived was meant to strengthen my purpose — and today, I stand not as a victim or just a survivor, but as an overcomer.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m Alana Dent — an Account Executive, Public Speaker, Author, and Advocate on a mission to restore confidence and rebuild lives. As Miss Tennessee Petite 2026 and founder of Restoring Confidence, Rebuilding Lives, I’ve transformed my journey of overcoming domestic abuse and chronic illness into a movement that empowers others to rise stronger, walk in faith, and rediscover their worth.

Beyond the crown, I serve as an Account Executive at Red Deluxe Brand Development, where I help brands connect purpose with people through creative storytelling and strategy. I also lead as the President of Community Impact and Outreach at the Command Center Media Lab in Memphis, TN — a hub that equips youth to express faith, art, and resilience through creativity and community.

As a National Public Speaker, I travel to inspire audiences with messages of healing, confidence, and personal transformation. Most recently, I took the stage at WAM (Walk a Mile in Her Shoes) — a powerful event advocating for domestic abuse awareness — where I shared my story of faith, freedom, and restoration.

What excites me most about my brand is its authenticity — everything I do is grounded in faith, purpose, and empowerment. This year, I’m expanding my reach through Unframed: The Art of Impact, a city-to-city creative showcase celebrating artists, survivors, and changemakers who use their voices to uplift others.

I don’t just speak — I connect, inspire, and ignite transformation. My mission is simple: to show the world that confidence isn’t just a look — it’s a lifestyle of healing, purpose, and unstoppable hope.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three most important qualities that shaped my journey are faith, adaptability, and emotional intelligence.

Faith is the foundation of everything I do. It’s what carried me through seasons of uncertainty and pain, and it continues to guide my purpose today. I’ve learned that when you trust God’s timing, even closed doors can lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.

Adaptability has been essential — especially navigating public speaking, brand strategy, and advocacy work. From the boardroom to the stage, being able to pivot gracefully in changing environments has allowed me to grow with confidence and clarity.

And finally, emotional intelligence has taught me the power of empathy and understanding. Whether I’m mentoring youth or speaking to survivors, I’ve learned that connection begins when people feel seen and valued.

For anyone early in their journey: build your foundation on purpose, stay flexible through change, and lead with heart. These three qualities don’t just create success — they create impact that lasts.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

The two greatest influences in my life have been God and my parents. My faith has been my anchor — the source of my strength, direction, and peace in every storm. God’s grace taught me how to turn pain into purpose and use my story to uplift others.

My mom and dad have been my earthly examples of love, leadership, and perseverance. They taught me the value of integrity, hard work, and compassion — not just through words, but by the way they live their lives. My mom showed me what it means to lead with grace, while my dad taught me how to lead with courage.

Together, they instilled in me the belief that I could overcome anything with faith, discipline, and heart. Every success I’ve had is a reflection of their prayers, their sacrifices, and the foundation they built for me to stand on.
