Meet Autumn Weyandt

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Autumn Weyandt. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Autumn below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Autumn with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Justin and I were raised in homes where our parents taught this skill very early on. Our parents expected us to build this skill set throughout our growing up and into adulthood. Through their example and leadership, we were able to possess a great work ethic and it has served us very well in life & in our small business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hey, there! We are Autumn & Justin Weyandt of Weyandt Photography LLC. We are professional photographers located in South Range, WI, about 20 minutes from Duluth, MN. We have been in business since 2020 and we photograph mainly people, which includes weddings, elopements, couples, families & more. We love being photographers not only because it allows us to be creative, but also because it is so amazing to photograph special moments in people’s lives & they get to keep the memories we captured forever. It is such a joyful and honorable job that we never take for granted.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the three qualities that helped us along in our small business journey have been being teachable, staying organized, and keeping integrity no matter what situation arises. When starting a small business, learn as much as you can and stay as organized as possible from the beginning. Also, no matter what business you have, if you work with people, you’re going to have a challenging customer at some point. It is so important to keep your integrity strong and stay respectful to all your customers no matter what.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Our friend and mentor Hope Gregg of Blessings Photography LLC has been essential in our growth and success for our small business. She has taught us so much about not only how to be successful business owners, but great photographers. Wedding Photography specifically is a very difficult job due to the unpredictability, high stress, and high pressure to create amazing images and keep the couple happy. Without Hope, we would be miles behind where we are now and we can never thank her enough for her wisdom, kindness, and patience to teach us. We owe her so much and are very thankful for her.
