We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Fox Garza a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Fox, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Learning always, by constantly learning and exploring new things keeps my creativity alive. I believe that being creative definitely comes from within, but at the same time, continuously learning, loving and doing what you love keeps it alive and thriving!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Meet Foxhole, a true family outfit ran by Fox, Jeff Garza, and their two children. We are a one stop vintage shop that also offers repairs & customizations of denim. Vintage tees & Vintage denim collecting was always an addiction of ours. So we started under the name Foxhole officially in 2011 in Los Angeles and opened our first retail space shortly after. We LOVE to recycle, repair, & reuse as much as we can and save vintage treasures. Fox has also been a denim designer for major brands for over 15 years now. This gives Foxhole the ability to be so much more than just a retail business. We’re denim consultants, and when you look good we feel great!
We will be at the Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival in Santa Monica at the Barker Hanger November 7-9! Buy tickets today!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Finding your passion, finding what serves your community and giving customers something they need instead of just something they want.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
The reason we love what we do so much is that our ideal client has many shapes, forms and really is a very wide range of person. An ideal client is someone that loves to feel good in their Denim, someone who wants to do something new and creative with DENIM they already have or someone who is looking for that perfect JEAN that needs to be fit to their body. Our motto is, “When You Look Good, We Feel Great! One of my favorite ideal clients is someone that has Denim that has been passed down for generations. and wants to bring new life or elevated life to it. That is my favorite project to work on.
