Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alice Garner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alice , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from my life experience. My family didn’t really have much growing up and we didn’t have help. So now if I can help someone in need, I try to.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a Chef and I have two bakery locations. I love baking and cooking, but I especially love baking. What I feel is most exciting about being a Chef is that I can bring all my passion and creativity out in what I do. I love making people happy with my desserts. I just recently opened a second location and we are getting ready to add drinks and shakes to our menu.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I believe trusting God, hard work and dedication were most impactful on my journey to becoming a Chef and owning a business.
The advice I would give to someone early in their journey is to trust God and trust yourself. You are your biggest critic. If you put your face in God and believe in the skills you develop, everything will work out.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I am looking for people to partner with. I want to offer coffee in my bakery and I would love to partner with a local coffee shop.
