Meet Jen Black

We recently connected with Jen Black and have shared our conversation below.

Jen, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I didn’t so much “find” my purpose – I slowly remembered it. Over time, through experiences that kept nudging me back toward the healing path, I realized that the things that lit me up inside were pointing me toward the work I was always meant to do.

My first glimpse of this came when I was 17 and had my first past life regression. That experience opened a doorway for me, and I became fascinated by the idea of healing, transformation, and the unseen connections that shape our lives. Even when I stepped away from it during college and years of corporate jobs, that spark never left.

Eventually, I could no longer ignore the pull. What started with personal healing through Reiki, hypnosis, and crystals soon became a deeper calling to share these modalities with others. The more I practiced, the more I saw how powerful and life-changing this work could be — not just for myself but for my clients as well.

In a way, my purpose has always been there, waiting patiently. It wasn’t a single “aha” moment but rather a journey of remembering, trusting, and finally giving myself permission to follow the path that felt most aligned with my soul.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
At the heart of my work, I help people reconnect with their inner wisdom and release the blocks that keep them from living their best life. Through Transformational Hypnosis, Reiki, and Crystal Healing, I guide clients into a safe space where they can heal on the deepest levels — emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. What excites me most is watching someone shift from feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by old patterns into living a life full joy, clarity, and empowerment. It’s not about me “fixing” them — it’s about helping them discover that the answers have been within them all along.

At Alchemy + Herbs Healing, I offer services and products designed to support healing and self-empowerment at every stage of the journey:

• Transformational Hypnosis Sessions — This is my favorite modality because of how profoundly it changes lives. These sessions are for those deeply committed to lasting change. Over 3–4 weeks, clients move through a powerful process including intake, a personalized hypnosis session, and integration support. This work helps people break through deep-rooted barriers, release trauma, and step into their true power.

• Reiki & Crystal Healing Sessions — Reiki and crystal healing work beautifully to clear energetic blockages, balance the chakras, and release emotional baggage. These sessions support the body, mind, and spirit in moving toward clarity, peace, and alignment.

• Hand-Crafted Self-Care Products — I create small-batch, Reiki-infused soaps, oils, sprays, and more. Each product is made with love and intention, designed to nourish the skin while also supporting emotional well-being and daily self-care rituals.

All Transformational Healing Sessions are available via Zoom. Distance work can be just as powerful — often more so — because clients are in their own safe, comfortable space where they feel most open and receptive.

This year, I’m especially excited about sharing more resources through my YouTube channel — making these healing practices more accessible to anyone who feels called to them.

What sets my work apart is its deeply personalized approach. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all method — every session is tailored to the individual’s needs. My goal is to help clients trust their intuition, cultivate self-love, and embrace the life they truly desire.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are empathy, intuition, and openness.

Empathy has always been one of my greatest strengths. I don’t just listen to my clients — I really feel what they’re experiencing. That ability to put myself in their shoes allows me to hold a safe, compassionate space where they feel seen and understood, sometimes for the very first time.

Learning to trust my intuition has been life-changing. I always had gut feelings, but over the years I’ve learned to truly listen to them instead of second-guessing. My intuition guides not only my personal decisions but also my healing work, often leading me to insights or approaches that end up being exactly what a client needs.

My openness — to learning, to experiencing new things, and to exploring the metaphysical and unknown — has allowed me to grow in ways I couldn’t have imagined. If I had stayed closed off or only relied on what I “knew,” I never would have discovered the modalities that are now at the heart of my work.

For anyone who’s early in their journey, my best advice is to trust the process. Don’t compare yourself to where others are, because everyone grows and unfolds at their own pace. Pay close attention to the signals your own body, heart, and higher self are giving you. Those nudges — the little gut feelings or sparks of curiosity — are often leading you exactly where you need to go. Honor them, even if the path doesn’t look like anyone else’s.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest area of growth in the past 12 months has been overcoming my fear of being fully seen and heard. For a long time, I felt like everything I put out into the world had to be “perfect” before I could share it. That mindset kept me playing small and holding back.

Starting my YouTube channel was the turning point. Honestly, if you had told me a year ago that I’d be creating videos for the whole world to see, I would have laughed and said, “absolutely not.” I grew up painfully shy, and even though most people who know me now wouldn’t guess it, I’ve carried those same insecurities into adulthood. Hitting “publish” on my first video felt terrifying because it meant opening myself up to judgment and criticism — not just from people I know, but from anyone, anywhere.

But I knew that if I wanted to reach and help more people, I had to move past my own fears. So I did it anyway. And here’s the part I’m most proud of: I’ve chosen to leave my videos imperfect. There are moments where I look nervous or stumble over my words, but instead of editing those out, I leave them in. It’s been such an important practice in letting go of perfectionism and realizing that authenticity matters so much more than appearing “perfect.”

This shift has been huge for me — not just in growing my YouTube channel, but in helping me step more fully into my own voice and mission.
