We recently connected with Kenya Moore and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenya, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I believe my optimism comes from within! I think in every situation it is key to look at the brighter side of things.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I received my bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in undergrad at Dillard University. I received my Ph. D. in Biomedical Science. I founded 2 nonprofit organizations, Rooted in STEM and Life Keeps Rollin’.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Science, leadership, and integrity. The advice I would give to someone early in their journey would be to never ever give up at all costs.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
Probably…demonstrate the importance and value of work ethic.
