Meet Milagros Rottjer

We were lucky to catch up with Milagros Rottjer recently and have shared our conversation below.

Milagros , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I’d always give my parents all the credit for my confidence and self-esteem. They taught me to always keep going no matter how difficult life gets.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At the moment I’m focus on my journey as a makeup artist. It is a form of profound expression, a way of telling stories without words and that is what it makes it so special .

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

-Train yourself with different references; don’t stick to just one style.
-Study art: painting, sculpture, photography. Everything influences your eye
-Practice on diverse skin types: ages, tones, textures.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My parents are everything to me. There hasn’t been a second in my life when they haven’t let go of my hand.
I’m a wheelchair user and was born with spina bifida. When my mother was five months pregnant, they found out I was going to be born with the condition. Despite that, they never lost faith. They always moved forward, with the mentality that I was going to be great and that I would be able to live a full and happy life. They fought, and continue to fight to this day, to keep that promise.
