Meet Megan Kelley

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Megan Kelley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Megan, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I didn’t find my purpose all at once; it revealed itself little by little, through seasons of curiosity, challenge, and surrender.

For most of my life, I thought purpose would arrive as a grand revelation. Instead, it came quietly, through the things that lit me up and the moments that broke me down. Photography started as a creative outlet, something I did for joy. Over time, it became a mirror—showing me how I see the world and how deeply I value people being seen. When I held a camera, I felt connected to something outside of myself.

Purpose deepened when I left the security of a corporate job to pursue my creative work full-time. It was both terrifying and freeing. Every project I took on, every client I helped build a brand or capture a milestone, reminded me that my purpose wasn’t just about creating beautiful visuals; it was about helping people see themselves clearly and believe in what they were building.

Faith also shaped how I understand purpose. I’ve come to believe that purpose is not something we chase, but something we steward. It’s already planted within us, waiting for us to nurture it through obedience, consistency, and courage.

Today, my purpose lives at the intersection of creativity and impact. Through my work as a brand strategist and photographer, I help others tell their stories, elevate their vision, and walk boldly in what they’re called to do. In helping others uncover their light, I found mine.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m Megan Kelley, a creative strategist, photographer, and founder of Brand Flour, a multidisciplinary creative agency that helps brands move from whispers to waves. My work lives at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and soul. I build brands that not only look good but mean something; brands with depth, alignment, and purpose.

What excites me most about what I do is the transformation. I get to watch an idea, sometimes just a spark or a whisper, grow into a thriving brand that changes how people see themselves and how they show up in the world. Through photography, brand identity, and web design, I help entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and creatives tell stories that feel timeless, intentional, and true.

Brand Flour was born from my belief that business is more than commerce — it’s cultivation. Like tending a garden, it requires vision, care, and patience. My process reflects that philosophy: we plant the seed (strategy), build the root (identity), let the brand bloom (content), and prepare for the harvest (launch and growth).

Right now, I’m expanding Brand Flour’s educational arm to include an online course for entrepreneurs who want to build a faith-filled, purpose-led foundation for their business in addition to other new, developing digital resources. Each tool and resource is designed to help entrepreneurs steward both creativity and calling with excellence.

At its core, Brand Flour is about elevation; helping people rise into who they’re meant to be and create work that leaves a legacy. Every brand has a story. I’m here to help make sure it’s told beautifully, boldly, and with purpose.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three most impactful elements in my journey have been faith, communication, and discipline. Each one has shaped not only my work but also the way I lead, create, and live.

1. Faith: Staying Grounded in Purpose.
Faith has been my anchor through every transition, especially when stepping out of comfort zones into entrepreneurship. It taught me that clarity doesn’t always come before the leap — sometimes it comes in motion. My advice to others is simple: don’t wait for fear to disappear before you start. Move with faith, even when the path isn’t fully visible.

2. Communication: The Power of Connection.
Every opportunity I’ve ever had has been built on communication — knowing how to listen, empathize, and translate ideas into action. Whether it’s leading a creative team, working with clients, or mentoring others, communication turns vision into reality. To strengthen this skill, practice clarity. Learn to say what you mean with confidence, and say it with heart.

3. Discipline: Doing the Work, Even When It’s Hard.
Talent will open doors, but discipline keeps them open. The moments that mattered most in my journey weren’t always glamorous; they were the quiet hours spent editing, strategizing, and refining when no one was watching. My advice is to fall in love with consistency. Progress often hides inside the small, faithful steps you take every day.

Together, these three qualities have been my compass. Faith gives me vision, communication gives me reach, and discipline ensures that what I build lasts.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is a visionary. Someone who knows they’re called to do something meaningful but wants to present it with excellence. They’re usually already doing incredible work: leading teams, building brands, creating art, or serving communities. What they need is alignment, someone to help them bring all the moving parts of their vision into one cohesive story.

They care about aesthetics, but even more about impact. They value depth, substance, and intentionality. They understand that a brand isn’t just about visuals, it’s about voice, values, and the experience people feel when they encounter it. My best clients come to me ready to invest not just in how they’re seen, but in who they’re becoming.

Most of my clients are high-achieving women, often founders, coaches, therapists, or creatives, who carry both elegance and grit. They’ve reached a point where DIY no longer serves them, and they’re ready for strategy, structure, and storytelling that elevates them to the next level. They trust experts, appreciate collaboration, and believe in excellence with heart.

What makes someone an ideal client for me isn’t a title or a budget — it’s mindset. It’s someone who shows up curious, open, and ready to grow. Together, we don’t just build brands — we build legacies.
