Meet Makeda Hubert

We were lucky to catch up with Makeda Hubert recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Makeda, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

For self-care, I keep it simple but intentional. Having my dog has been a blessing because she gets me outside every day, and those walks have become a form of meditation. It’s my time to breathe, reflect, and reconnect. I also love doing my hair and makeup—it’s like art for me. There’s something calming about it, like the peace you get when coloring in a book. And honestly, reminding myself of what I’m grateful for might be the most powerful form of self-care I have. It keeps me grounded and helps me see beauty in the middle of chaos.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a multi-passionate entrepreneur who blends trading, modeling, and mindset education to show people what it looks like to rebuild your life with purpose and power. Through my brand, I help others develop confidence, wealth, and self-awareness—inside and out.

What excites me most is the transformation that happens when people realize they can design their life. Whether it’s teaching others how to trade, walking the runway, or creating content that inspires self-belief, my mission is always the same: to help others see what’s possible.

Right now, I’m expanding my brand partnerships and preparing for more modeling campaigns while continuing to mentor traders and build leaders in the financial education space. I believe in merging art, finance, and mindset—because true success starts within, but it’s meant to be seen.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three qualities that have shaped my journey the most are resilience, self-awareness, and consistency.

Resilience taught me that setbacks don’t define me—they refine me. Every challenge has been an invitation to level up emotionally and mentally. Self-awareness has been my compass. Whether I’m trading, modeling, or leading, I’ve learned that understanding my emotions and triggers helps me make stronger, more aligned decisions. And consistency has been the quiet force behind everything. Even on days when motivation fades, discipline keeps me moving.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to give yourself grace while staying committed to your growth. Learn to listen to yourself, protect your energy, and keep showing up—even when it feels small. That’s how transformation happens.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

One of the most impactful books in my personal and professional growth has been The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John C. Maxwell. It taught me that leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about influence, integrity, and growth.

Three lessons stood out the most. First, the Law of the Lid, which helped me understand that my organization, relationships, and results can only grow to the level of my own leadership. That shifted how I approach personal development—it became a responsibility, not an option. Second, the Law of Process reminded me that true success is built daily, not in a day. And finally, the Law of Connection showed me that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Those principles have shaped how I lead, how I mentor, and how I show up for myself and others.
