We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leslie Brooker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Leslie , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
2 Corinthians 1:3,4 says, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,who comforts us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
I found my purpose in the mercies of God,who delivered me from a life of addiction. Now it is my mission to share the message of freedom in Christ with those who find themselves in the bondage of addiction.

For 25 years I have been the owner and operator of Remarkable Painting. This has been for me the expression of the Remarkable work that God has done in my life.
Just as God took a broken man and made him new. That is what I get to do every day. I get to transform homes that have been abused or neglected,and make them something beautiful as they were intended.
As great as this is I have recently joined a team to develop a non-profit called Isaiah 43 Ministries, where we will bring that same vision into the lives of men who suffer from addiction. Showing them that God can restore their lives and transform them into something beautiful.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The most impactful qualities of my journey all have to do with perseverance. I have never been a quiter that is why my addiction was so severe. I endured terrible circumstances in my childhood that instilled in me a resolve to overcome obstacles, no matter how difficult.
So that transfered into my business, that no matter how difficult the challenge or obstacle I refused to give up or quit. And that is my advise to anyone who is on their journey. Life is difficult and there is no way around that,just don’t quit
Jesus said in John 16:33, In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

I am looking for individuals who have a desire to invest in lives. There is nothing more important in this life than to give what you have to someone else. Whether it is time,talent,or treasure each are valuable in the hands of God. We are the tools He uses to make the world a better place.
