Meet Brittany

We recently connected with Brittany and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from my parents it’s all I know. We didn’t have much growing but we had was because of my parents hard work. My mom used to work many hours in the hair salon and a lot of our extras came from Mom. My Dad who raised me from one years old came from Colombia with his parents reaching for the American dream. My dad worked a lot to provide for our family,To be successful requires a lot of resilience and showing up even when you don’t want to, when the odds are against you and a lot of Faith that God will open the door for you that no one else can.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a 35 year old salon professional growing up in my mom’s salon and eventually owning my own. I know own a salon in San Marco Jacksonville Florida. I am a Hair Extension expert and I am most excited over about being able to help women with hair loss that can’t normally wear extensions for reasons such as thin hair, post partum hair loss, alopecia, trichotillomania, medical ressons. Now wil Mesh or Meshless Integration we can give permanent solutions without glue or adhesives. This is such a game changer for women who hair loss challenges and can normal not wear hair extensions. I have three certifications and most recently trained in London with Elevate Mesh Integration. So Now I give women their confidence back with beautiful hair they have dreamed of.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back I have always been obsessed with learning. I can’t stay still. I want to know more and figure things out. So if I want to do it or learn it I will. Everyday things are changing and staying on top of those trends and techniques is so important in our industry. For new stylist don’t give up and always learn and grow. Clients are savy and if you’re gonna be an expert you have to be able to solve challenges.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?

I think it’s important to be an expert in what you like the most. You can’t be all things to all people and really honing your skills to what you want to specialize in will grow your business.
