We recently connected with Destiny Moore and have shared our conversation below.
Destiny, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My purpose was found at age 13 when I was first gifted a camera for Christmas. I was beyond thrilled and had’nt really been that into taking phots as much as I was into drawing cartoons at the time but I was excited to try it out. The first picture I took was in my backyard in Los Angeles,CA of a pair of pal trees during the daytime. I still remember my first photo because I honestly really knew i was always going to love photography from that moment on.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Currently I am finishing up my last year in school as well as pursing photography. Some of my work can be found in the Heights Arts Gallery for sale and there are even some new pieces their holiday store, so I’m very pleased and excited to have my work inside their gallery for sale. Please check it out its the Heights Arts Gallery located in University Heights, OH

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that were impactful for my journey has been, persistence, optimism, and faithful. I believe these traits were imperative for me as they are needed in order for success quite often you have to stay focused and push forward even when its hard and believe that their is something brighter ahead and that’s where optimism and faith come into play.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The best book I have ever read was Siddhartha by Herman Hesse I read it several times during my life and have always received a different message from it. However ultimately it is about a man who is stripped of all his worldly, and materialistic values and begins to live life in a new way that teaches him what it means to be living in a world and not defined by a title, or any possession and how identity is then defined .
This was really valuable for me and is still valuable because it teaches not to be so attached to materialistic possessions but to revel in the beauty that life offers by itself, the beauty of the sunset or the pauses and spaces in our life of nothingness. It teaches a lot about gratitude and the releasing of ones ego.
