Meet Kathryn Wolf

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kathryn Wolf. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with kathryn below.

Hi Kathryn, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

It’s been a long journey, only up until recently I’ve started feeling my most confident and vibrant self. I think it’s been a combination of work on myself and age (I just turned 30). I think for so long I let others dictate my value, whether that be old friends, romantic relationships, or family. But over time I realized how damaging allowing others to dictate how I feel about myself is. It allowed me to stay stuck in energy that wasn’t serving me anymore. It’s been a journey of self-reflection, choosing what serves and letting go what feels awful. Being authentic is the best version of you that you can step into– it allows you to make room for the best version of your life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m kathryn– I’m a therapist and a yoga instructor! Prior to start college, I wanted to get my yoga teaching certification and ended up going to Yandara Yoga Institute, while staying on the beach for a month to learn. When starting college, I was double majoring in biology and chemistry, later to learn this was NOT my calling. I dropped all my courses and took mini semesters to catch back up, all consisting of counseling classes. I then continued to obtain my Master’s while fusing yoga and counseling together during my internship and practicum. Post-graduation I was able to open a private practice and specialize in trauma and somatic therapy. It’s an incredible gift to watch clients open up from working through a lens that brings about healing through somatic therapy and talk therapy working together.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, my yoga certification journey, coupled with meditation and breathwork has being extremely helpful and impactful for clients. Now, I really enjoy working through an IFS lens. Coupling all these together is such a great way to bring emotion out of clients and bring about the best change for them.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes! I’d love to connect with experienced and “baby” clinicians with similar lenses wanting to grow their social media and do live streams or events together in order to build referral relationships and clientele!
