Meet Jus Drayton

We recently connected with Jus Drayton and have shared our conversation below.

Jus, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Honestly and personally my kids. I am most proud of being a father. It put life in perspective for me and definitely helped me mature. Everything I do, every move I make is
for my children. They need to see a black man winning so they know they can do the same. I won’t fail the mission behind my kids.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My story of entrepreneurship started when I began to see a pattern of young boys who wanted to go to college but didn’t have the funds, means or opportunity to attend. Which usually leads them down the negative path in life. I call it small town syndrome. Our backyard becomes one’s adult playground. Boredom plus influence.
See most of my peers go to college I had to understand that knowledge didn’t stop for them so i had to make it my business to continue learning. My advantage, I was able to study more niche topics. First the mind/mediation. I am an avid reader business, sales, biographies, finances, negotiating and sales were my subjects post high school. By making a change in my life. Using my creativity, teaching myself new skills.
Shows that you can do anything you set your mind to. Life has no limitations.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are learning sales no matter the industry, developing strong communication skills, and creating my own lane. Understanding sales has taught me the importance of connecting with people, identifying their needs, and presenting value in a way that makes a lasting impact — skills that apply to every field, not just business. Communication has been equally vital; being able to clearly express ideas, listen with intention, and build genuine relationships has opened countless doors and opportunities. And creating my own lane has been about not waiting for permission or a perfect path, but instead taking initiative, believing in my vision, and paving the way forward even when the route wasn’t clear.

My biggest advice for anyone early in their journey is to never stop learning. Stay curious, be open to feedback, and invest in your growth every step of the way. Each lesson, success, and even setback helps shape you into the person you’re becoming — and that continuous learning is what keeps you moving toward your purpose.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

My biggest growth and improvement over the past year has been learning that I can’t control everything. I’ve realized that life unfolds in its own time and that everything happens in its proper season. Instead of trying to rush the process or force results, I’ve learned to trust the journey and focus on what I can control — my effort, my attitude, and my consistency. Growth takes patience, just like watering plants. You might not see progress right away, but if you keep showing up, nurturing your goals, and believing in the process, everything will bloom when it’s meant to.
