Meet Nida Jamal

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nida Jamal. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nida below.

Nida, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I found my purpose when I realized that jewelry could be more than adornment it could be empowerment. My journey began when I met women artisans in rural Pakistan whose incredible skills were going unseen. Their craftsmanship was exquisite, but they lacked access to fair markets and recognition.

That encounter inspired me to create ArHaz Jewels a brand that connects these artisans to the global market through ethical, handcrafted jewelry and traceable gemstones. Each piece now tells a story of resilience, culture, and empowerment. My purpose grew from seeing beauty not just in gemstones, but in the lives transformed behind them.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the founder of ArHaz Jewels, a purpose driven jewelry brand that empowers women artisans across rural Pakistan through ethical craftsmanship and traceable gemstones.

We work directly with miners to ensure that each gemstone is ethically sourced and fairly traded. Our artisans make handcrafted jewelry using centuries-old techniques that celebrate Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage. Through this model, women gain financial independence, new skills, and a global platform for their artistry.

Each piece of jewelry carries a story of hope and resilience.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three qualities have shaped my journey the most: resilience, empathy, and vision.

Resilience taught me to keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear from building a jewelry brand across two continents to navigating export bans and funding challenges. For anyone starting out, persistence matters more than perfection.

Empathy allowed me to build real relationships with the women artisans behind ArHaz Jewels. Understanding their lives, hopes, and challenges made every decision more meaningful. Lead with heart; business will follow.

And vision the ability to see beyond what exists kept me grounded in purpose. I’ve learned that clarity of vision gives strength when circumstances test you. My advice: stay true to your “why.” It will carry you through everything that tries to stop you.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

I’m deeply grateful to the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C. and the Government of Pakistan for their ongoing support in helping me navigate trade logistics and advocate for women artisans across the country. Their encouragement has strengthened our mission to represent Pakistan on the global stage through craftsmanship, culture, and ethical trade.

My very first exhibition was hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan during Passport DC, and it became a defining moment in my journey. Over 2,000 guests attended, including diplomats, art enthusiasts, and community leaders who experienced the story of ArHaz Jewels for the very first time. It was more than an exhibition it was a celebration of Pakistan’s rich heritage and the women whose hands bring that beauty to life.

Through this collaboration, ArHaz Jewels gained the visibility and credibility it needed to grow, paving the way for our mission to connect women artisans in rural Pakistan with a global audience that values purpose, authenticity, and craftsmanship
