We were lucky to catch up with Nina recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nina , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
For me, creativity is a living thing,
it grows when I stay curious, connected, and intentional. I keep my creativity alive by paying attention to the world around me: nature, architecture, culture, colors in a café, even the rhythm of a city morning. Inspiration is everywhere if you’re willing to look up.
I also protect creativity through discipline. I train, I read, I travel, I serve people. My best ideas usually arrive when I’m present, energized, and grounded in gratitude.
But what truly drives me is people. I love creating beautiful and meaningful experiences, especially knowing that what I build becomes part of someone’s memory a wedding, a proposal, a family celebration. Thinking about their reaction, that moment when their face lights up, pushes me to go deeper and give my very best. Beauty with purpose, that’s what keeps my creativity alive.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hi! I’m Nina. I was born and raised in Venezuela, where I studied journalism but creativity has always been the language that guided me. That led me into fashion and marketing early in my career, working with aesthetics, storytelling, emotion, and the power of experiences.
A few years ago, life brought me to Texas, and it felt like a rebirth. Here, I discovered floristry and I fell in love with the way flowers communicate beauty, emotion, and presence in such an honest way. To me, fashion and flowers speak the same language: textures, colors, movement, seasons, and the magic of making someone feel something.
Today I create meaningful moments through flowers and event design. I love the idea of building memories, the kind that stay in people’s hearts. When I picture a client seeing our work for the first time, that joy is what pushes me to give my very best, every time.
I’m also a mom of two beautiful girls, and family is at the center of everything I do. With my husband, I run our floral studio called Amor del Bueno, which means “good love.” We chose that name because it reflects our purpose: to bring real love, beauty, and intention into every space we design.
Flowers are my medium, but love is truly the message. And my goal is always to create with beauty, depth, and heart.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
First, listening deeply.
Understanding what people truly want not just what they say is powerful. Every client has a vision, even if they don’t know how to express it. When you learn to listen with intention, you create not just a product, but a feeling. That connection improves your craft more than any course ever could.
Second, storytelling through your work.
Creativity alone isn’t enough you need to communicate it. Selling is not pushing; it’s showing people the value, the emotion, the meaning behind what you do. Many talented creatives stay hidden because they don’t tell their story. When you share your process, your inspiration, and your heart, the right clients find you.
Third, consistency and humility to keep learning.
This journey requires patience. You grow one project at a time, one season at a time. I still study, still experiment, still challenge myself. You can have talent, but discipline and a learning mindset take you further.
My advice?
Stay curious. Don’t rush the process. Practice listening before creating. And learn how to communicate your value with confidence and authenticity. When you combine skill with heart and communication, opportunities arrive.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
In the last 12 months, my biggest growth has been learning to stand where I belong creatively, professionally, and personally.
I started connecting intentionally with people who share my values and vision. Instead of trying to speak to everyone, I focused on showing my work to the right audience clients who truly appreciate emotion, craftsmanship, and detail. That shift has changed everything: the opportunities, the energy, and the level of work we get to create.
And I’ve embraced being a student every single day. I study design, business, trends, floristry, storytelling , always learning, always refining. Growth happens when curiosity becomes a habit, not a moment.
So this year, I’ve grown in confidence, in clarity, and in community and all of that has allowed my creativity and my business to flourish in a more intentional, elevated way.
