We recently connected with Kellen Arrington-Walker and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kellen , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

In 2016, my father passed away of health issues. That following yr I decided that wanted to take my health back and changed the generational sickness in my family so my son and future children wouldn’t have to suffer. I created Essential CreationZ that year and my brother introduced me to herbs and after that, my passion blossomed.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a herbalist and practice living a holistic lifestyle by growing my own food and herbs, harvesting herbs from around the city and practice overall health for the mind, body and spirit. Being able to not only heal my family generational sickness but showing my children and the community the importance of living a healthier life style brings me so much joy.. Recently I received a $10,000 grant from Kansas City Gift.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that has been most impactful is self determination, forever wanting to grow, and truly sticking to loving my passion no matter the ups or downs. The advice I have is to stay determined and never give up. Make sure it is your passion and understand that it will all work out how it is supposed to with time and patience

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

In the past 12 months my biggest areas of growth has been staying consistent with my goals, attending many vendor events in and out the city, and overall not giving up
