Meet Needah Kavallierou

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Needah Kavallierou. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Needah below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Needah with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My parents came here as immigrants and worked incredibly hard to give our family a chance at a better life. I know my drive and work ethic come directly from them.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a mom of two boys, and that part of my life has shaped so much of who I am and the work that I do. Becoming a mother opened my eyes to the beauty and the challenges that come with it the joy, the exhaustion, the identity shifts, and the moments when you’re just trying to hold it all together. Because I’ve lived that journey myself, I have such a heart for walking alongside women and children, especially mothers in the postpartum season.

I’m a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, and I specialize in supporting moms and families through those tender transitions. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding helping women feel seen, supported, and empowered as they navigate both motherhood and their own healing.

I’m also the founder of Wild Heart Mamas Community and Wild Heart Mamas , a community created for moms to connect, share stories, and remind each other that they’re not alone. It’s a space where we blend real conversation, mental health awareness, and a whole lot of heart because sometimes healing starts with a good cup of coffee and an honest chat. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that have shaped my journey the most are resilience, empathy, and community. Each one has been woven into my story in such a personal way.

After the birth of my first son, I was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety something I never expected to face. When my son was a few weeks old, he stopped breathing and while I waited for the paramedics to arrive, the 911 caller walked me through the steps and my son started to cry. That moment changed me forever. That season was incredibly hard, but it also became a turning point. Working with my own therapist helped me understand the power of vulnerability, healing, and asking for help. It taught me that therapy isn’t just about coping; it’s about rediscovering yourself in the process. That experience gave me a deep compassion for other mothers walking through similar struggles, and it’s what inspired the work I do today.

In 2020, when the world felt isolating and uncertain, I started Wild Heart Mamas a space for moms to connect, talk honestly, and find community. What began as a small weekly meetup has now grown into a thriving community where thousands of mothers have gathered over the past five years. We meet three to five times a month in Pasadena, sharing stories, laughter, and a lot of grace for the messy, beautiful parts of motherhood. Its a come as you are and always free meet ups!

For anyone early in their journey whether as a mom, a therapist, or someone pursuing a passion my advice is to start where you are and stay rooted in connection. Be gentle with yourself, surround yourself with people who understand your heart, and remember that growth often comes from the hardest seasons.

Follow along @wildheartmamas to join one of our local meetups in Pasadena we’d love to welcome you into the Wild Heart Mamas community.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, absolutely! I would love to partner with local OBGYNs, pediatricians, and hospitals to become a trusted referral source for mothers who are navigating postpartum, motherhood transitions, or just need a little extra support. My heart is really in creating bridges between mental health care and the medical community so moms can access help earlier and feel less alone in the process.

And on a lighter note, I’d also love to see Wild Heart Mamas Coffee stocked in those same places one day! A comforting cup of coffee can go a long way in reminding moms to take a breath and care for themselves, even in the middle of a busy day.

If anyone is interested in collaborating, you can connect with me through @wildheartmamas on Instagram or reach out directly through my website. I’m always excited to partner with others who share the same passion for supporting women and families.
