We were lucky to catch up with Cincere Banks recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Cincere , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

I’ve learned to turn that pressure into power. I work best when I know the odds are against me, because I understand that I’m not just showing up for myself — I’m representing every person who never got the chance to be in that room. My presence is proof that purpose can’t be duplicated. There’s only one me, and that’s my advantage.

When I walk into a space, I don’t shrink. I trust that the same God who opened that door for me will give me the grace and confidence to own it. I don’t have to fit in; I was built to stand out.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Keore Cynn — a celebrity hairstylist, creative director, and visual muse passionate about transforming energy through art. I specialize in locs, braids, and bold looks for athletes and creatives who express identity through style. What makes my work special is the story behind each transformation — it’s never just about the hair, it’s about confidence, presence, and purpose.

I’ve built my brand on authenticity and faith, trusting that what sets me apart is exactly what connects me to others. Beyond hairstyling, I’m expanding into fashion and creative direction through my lifestyle brand Slouched Club, which represents comfort, creativity, and individuality.

This next chapter is about walking fully in my purpose — creating, connecting, and inspiring others to believe that being yourself is your greatest gift.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities that have shaped my journey the most are faith, consistency, and authenticity.

Faith kept me grounded when I didn’t see results right away. I had to trust that God’s timing was aligning things even when I couldn’t. Consistency taught me that showing up — even on the quiet days — is what separates dreamers from doers. And authenticity is what opened every real door for me. Once I stopped trying to fit into what I thought people wanted and started being fully myself, the right people, clients, and opportunities started finding me.

For anyone early in their journey: stay true to your vision even when it’s not being clapped for yet. Develop your craft daily, stay humble enough to learn, and let your faith lead your moves. You don’t have to rush your process — your timing is divine.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

The biggest help in my journey has truly been God. Every skill, connection, and moment of strength has come from Him reminding me who I am and what I’m capable of. Whenever I felt lost or overlooked, my faith pulled me back to purpose.

Outside of that, I’m grateful for the people who believed in me before I fully believed in myself — my friends, clients, and mentors who saw the vision even when I couldn’t see it clearly yet. Their support kept me grounded and reminded me that community is everything.
