Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexia Rousse. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alexia, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I actually found my purpose through what started as a simple hobby. I’ve always loved being outdoors — ever since I was a little girl in the Girl Scouts, spending weekends camping, exploring, and just soaking in the beauty of nature. That connection to the natural world has always been part of me, and it only grew stronger as I got older.
When I started traveling to new places, I’d take photos of sunsets or beautiful views with my phone. But they never looked quite the same as what I saw with my eyes — the colors, the depth, the feeling. So I began experimenting with editing apps to bring the images closer to what I experienced in person. I shared them on Instagram, and the response was amazing. People felt something in those images, and that encouragement pushed me to keep creating.
Eventually, I bought my first real camera — a Panasonic Lumix — and taught myself how to use it. Later, I upgraded to a Canon 5D, then to the Fuji system I shoot with now. Each step deepened my passion and sharpened my eye. I also taught myself Lightroom and Photoshop, spending countless hours experimenting until I could translate exactly what I felt in those moments outdoors.
After more than ten years of photographing nature, I realized this was more than just a creative outlet — it was who I am. Photography brings me peace, purpose, and a sense of connection that I can’t find anywhere else. Now, I create fine art acrylic prints, crafted with museum-quality materials that highlight every color, texture, and ray of light. Seeing these images come to life in large format — and knowing they bring beauty and calm into people’s homes — feels like the most natural expression of my purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a fine art landscape photographer, and my work celebrates the beauty, stillness, and emotion found in nature. Through my brand, Alexia Rousse Fine Art, I create limited-edition acrylic prints that bring the feeling of standing in front of something awe-inspiring—whether it’s a canyon glowing in sunset light or the calm horizon just before dawn—into people’s homes and spaces.
Each piece is crafted as a luxury collectible, printed on museum-grade acrylic to enhance depth, color, and luminosity. This process creates a sense of immersion that’s both peaceful and powerful.
My work is about connection — to the earth, to stillness, to that fleeting moment when everything feels in balance. What began as a personal love of nature has evolved into a brand that blends art, emotion, and craftsmanship.
I’m currently focused on expanding gallery representation and continuing to collaborate with interior designers and private collectors who share a passion for fine art and meaningful design. My recent exhibition of large-scale acrylic pieces reaffirmed how powerful art can be when experienced in person, and I’m excited to bring that sense of peace and presence to new audiences through future gallery partnerships and curated collector experiences.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the first and most important thing is doing something you’re truly passionate about. For me, that’s nature and creative expression.
When you genuinely love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work — it becomes part of who you are. Passion keeps you curious, motivated, and resilient, even when things get challenging. It’s what prevents burnout and allows creativity to keep flowing.
The second is to learn from those who’ve already achieved what you aspire to do. I was incredibly fortunate to learn from one of the best — Peter Lik. Watching how he built his career, from creative mastery to business acumen, showed me what’s possible when you combine passion with dedication. His success was proof that I could also turn my love for photography into something meaningful and lasting.
And third, there’s no substitute for putting in the work. Master your craft, keep improving, and focus on creating something you’re proud of. The more time you spend doing what you love, the more your unique voice emerges. Most importantly, enjoy the process — because when you have fun, that energy shows in everything you create.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, absolutely. Collaboration is such a beautiful part of growth, and I truly value connecting with people who share a love for art, design, and the natural world.
I’m currently open to partnering with galleries, interior designers, and private art consultants who resonate with my work and want to bring fine art photography into curated spaces — whether residential, hospitality, or corporate. I also love connecting with independent collectors who are looking for meaningful, high-quality pieces that elevate their environments and evoke a sense of calm and connection.
Each partnership is unique, and I always approach it with intention — ensuring the collaboration feels aligned creatively and energetically. My goal is to create pieces that not only enhance a space visually but also emotionally — art that helps people feel grounded, inspired, and at peace.
