Meet Brooke Vass

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brooke Vass a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Brooke, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by surrounding myself with inspiring peers and constantly engaging with movement. Dance, fitness, and everyday collaboration fuel my ideas and push me to create for others. That passion led me to code my own platform (brookevass.com) a space where people can discover fitness outlets, get custom websites, and receive social media audits to help them express their own creativity and grow their personal brand.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m Brooke Vass, a commercial dancer, certified fitness instructor, and creative entrepreneur currently based in Boston, Los Angeles, and New York City. I’m the first to earn a BFA in Commercial Dance with a minor in Creative Coding at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, combining movement and technology to empower others through wellness and self-expression.

Currently, I’m collaborating with health and wellness events nationwide to help business owners connect and market to younger generations. I find constant inspiration from my peers and the movement community, which drives me to create tools that help others find their creative side. This is why I am now offering social media audits and personal websites all coded and re formatted by me.

That said, my passion led me to build my own website platform, a space where artists and small business owners can discover fitness outlets, access custom website designs, and receive social media audits to grow their brand. My goal is to make creativity and self-expression more accessible for everyone.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have shaped my journey most are discipline, adaptability, and creativity.

Discipline came from the dancing and choreographing side of me. Learning to show up every day, stay consistent, and push through challenges even when no one’s watching. Being in the studios for my BFA from 8am to 10pm everyday. I am currently choreographing in our BFA program for Coldplay’s Ensemble and being a part of multiple pieces. Adaptability came from stepping into the world of technology and coding, where I had to be comfortable not knowing everything and stay curious enough to keep learning. I am the first to graduate with a bfa in commercial dance and minor in creative coding and I want to continue with this journey to help other thought my knowledge. And creativity has been the bridge between the two , helping me express myself through movement, design, and now through digital platforms like my YouTube channel.

For anyone just starting out, my biggest piece of advice is to focus on one thing at a time and be fully present in it. In a competitive world, it’s easy to compare yourself or rush through your goals, but real growth happens when you slow down and give your full attention to the step you’re in. That mindset helped me find my voice as both a dancer and a creator — and it’s what allows me to give back to others through my work.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

My biggest area of growth this past year has definitely been learning how to code and building my own website, brookevass.com. It pushed me out of my comfort zone as a dancer and fitness instructor and challenged me to think like a creator in a whole new way.

Designing and coding my own platform taught me how to combine my artistic side with technology, and it’s been so rewarding to see my ideas come to life in a space that fully represents who I am and what I offer. I hope to continue growing through this by presenting my website template, social media audit, and fitness packages to everyone!
