Meet Dani Thompson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dani Thompson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dani below.

Hi Dani, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?

I make it a priority to get outside and immerse myself in nature as much as I can, whether that’s hiking through forests, walking by the coast, or simply spending quiet time outdoors pottering around in my yarden.

Connecting with nature helps me clear my mind and reset my energy. I also practice yoga regularly, which keeps me grounded, balanced, and present both physically and mentally.

Another important part of my self-care is allowing myself permission to rest — taking a full day off when I need it, curling up with a good book, and simply recharging without guilt and then I can return to my work with more focus, creativity, and emotional balance.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

First and foremost, I’m an actress working primarily in horror films — a proud scream queen! I also write, produce, and direct, and I host The Scream Princess Podcast, which I started after relocating from London to the North East coast. It began as a creative outlet to fill my spare time, but it’s grown into something I’m really passionate about. The podcast features guests from all corners of the horror and spooky world, and it’s available to watch on YouTube at www.youtube.com/missdaniscreams alongside other videos I share, or to listen to on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.

When the film industry came to a standstill during lockdown, I suddenly had a lot more time on my hands, so I decided to explore another side of my interests and I retrained as a holistic therapist in various modalities, Reiki, crystal healing, and sound therapy and launched ‘Stardust Holistics’ which I now run alongside my work in horror. I offer one-to-one treatments and host chakra-balancing sound baths across various locations in the North East. I also hold online sound baths twice a month for the full moon and new moon, as well as guided meditations to help people connect, release, and restore their energy.

Most recently, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training, and I’ll soon be adding online yoga classes to my offerings — a really exciting next step in my holistic journey. You can find more information and updates on Instagram @stardustbydani or via my website www.stardustholistics.com

The two sides of my career — horror and healing, may seem like polar opposites, but for me, they create the perfect balance. One lets me explore darkness, creativity and storytelling, while the other allows me to bring light, calm and restoration to others. Life, after all, is all about balance.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Being adaptable has been essential, especially working across two very different worlds like horror and holistics. The entertainment industry can be unpredictable, and learning to flow with change rather than resist it has helped me stay open to new opportunities. For anyone starting out, my advice is to embrace flexibility. Things may not always go as planned, but sometimes those unexpected detours lead to the most rewarding experiences.

Perseverance is another huge one. Whether it’s facing rejection in acting or building a holistic business from the ground up, there are always challenges. Keeping that inner drive and belief in yourself even when progress feels slow makes all the difference. My advice is to stay consistent, trust your vision, and keep showing up.

Finally, creativity has been the thread tying everything together. It’s what fuels my performances, inspires my podcast, and shapes my holistic offerings. Creativity isn’t just about art, it’s a mindset that allows you to find new ways to express yourself and connect with others.

Each of these qualities has helped me grow through change, stay true to my passions, and build a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always open for collaboration! I love connecting with creative, passionate people across all areas of my work. In the horror world, I’m particularly interested in teaming up with filmmakers who are looking for an actress that fits my description, I’m always excited to bring new characters and stories to life, especially in projects that push boundaries or have a unique twist.

I’m also on the lookout for guests for The Scream Princess Podcast, anyone from the world of horror, paranormal, or anything spooky and mysterious. Whether you’re a filmmaker, author, special effects artist, paranormal investigator, or simply someone with an eerie story to share, I’d love to hear from you.
