Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lex Chante’. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lex , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Honestly, my resilience comes from life just doing what life does. I’ve been through enough moments where giving up would’ve been easier, but something in me never let that be an option. I think a lot of that comes from my faith; just knowing God’s timing is real, even when I don’t understand it. There’ve been seasons where I didn’t see results, but I still had to show up, trust the process, and keep creating. Running Compassion The Brand and CLEgivesback taught me that consistency builds character, not comfort. I’ve learned to find strength in the quiet parts, when nobody’s clapping yet. That’s what keeps me going. Knowing everything I’m building is bigger than me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m the Founder and Creative Director of Compassion The Brand, a Cleveland Ohio based streetwear line built on purpose, community, and authenticity. Something that blends fashion with meaning. Every piece I create represents compassion in action, reminding people that being kind, standing up for others, and leading with heart will never go out of style.
I’m also the founder of CLEgivesback, a community outreach organization that stands for Compassion, Leadership, and Empathy. Through events, drives, and partnerships, I focus on giving back to families in need and youth in the city. It’s all connected; the brand and the movement.
What excites me most is seeing how far both have come and knowing there’s still more to build. Right now, I’m focused on expanding Compassion The Brand with new seasonal drops, storytelling campaigns, and community-based collaborations. I want people to not only wear CTB but feel it in the culture, in the community, and in themselves.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three qualities that have shaped my journey are Compassion, Leadership, and Empathy the same values that guide CLEgivesback and Compassion The Brand.
Compassion: has taught me to stay connected to others, to listen, and to create work that genuinely uplifts people.
Leadership: has pushed me to take initiative, make tough decisions, and stay consistent even when things get hard. It’s not about doing it all alone. it’s about inspiring others to move forward with you.
Empathy drives everything I do, helping me understand the needs of my community and translate that into meaningful action through both my brand and community outreach organization.
For anyone starting out, my advice is simple: practice compassion in your work, step up as a leader when it matters, and lead with empathy. These aren’t skills you learn overnight, but the more you lean into them, the stronger your foundation becomes for whatever you’re building.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
One of my biggest challenges right now is learning to step out of hustle mode. I’ve always been used to doing everything on my own from hand-crafting my clothes to designing every detail myself. But I’m realizing that in order to truly grow, I need a solid team around me. I’m currently focused on building that team while continuing to learn the ins and outs of operating as a business leader and running a successful brand.
