Meet Diona Nicole Murray

We were lucky to catch up with Diona Nicole Murray recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Diona Nicole, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Finding my purpose has been a lifelong journey, deeply rooted in my love for creation.
As a child, I found joy in turning ideas into something real—from drawings to fashion design. Over time, I realized my purpose wasn’t just to create for myself, but to help others birth what’s inside of them. I used to think my role was simply about igniting joy, but I now understand that it’s about liberating greatness—the kind that’s already there, just waiting to be brought forth.

Whether I’m designing a brand, building an experience, or guiding someone through healing, I walk with people as they step into their calling. I get to witness them birth something meaningful and transformational. This same purpose flows into my work in women’s reproductive health—helping women who feel stuck, barren, or broken realize that they are still powerful, still chosen, and still fruitful. It is an honor to walk alongside them as they rediscover purpose, healing, and joy.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a designer who partners with mission-driven nonprofits and small businesses, using my UX and design expertise to solve real problems and bring innovative ideas to life.
From logos and websites to full brand ecosystems, I walk with clients from concept to launch, guiding them as they birth what’s been planted within them. As the founder of Barren Fruit, I create faith-based spaces for women navigating infertility and reproductive health challenges—helping them heal, advocate, and walk boldly in their purpose. Whether they birth a child or a calling, I help them liberate the greatness inside.

As a professor, I equip the next generation of creatives with the tools to design boldly, think critically, and lead with intention. What excites me most is being part of the transformation—whether it’s a woman who finds her voice, a client who sees their vision come to life, or a student who steps into their future.

And this year, there’s so much more unfolding.

I recently launched two transformative tools:

The Visionary’s Planner – a guided tool to help dreamers anchor their goals in faith, purpose, and action.

The Visionary’s Planner: Birth Worker Edition – created specifically for doulas, midwives, and maternal health advocates to organize their work while nurturing their own wellness.

Through The Visionary Collective, I’m cultivating a community of bold dreamers and builders—offering gatherings, retreats, and resources to help creatives and change-makers align their gifts with divine purpose. This relaunch is about reimagining what it means to live out your vision in community.

My original clothing line is also being rebirthed through Barren Fruit, featuring powerful and stylish new tees, hoodies, hats, and athleisure wear—along with a few signature fashion pieces that speak to identity, faith, and fruitfulness.

Coming soon:

A Prayer Journal to deepen spiritual healing

A Children’s Book and Coloring Book to spark early conversations around faith, resilience, and identity

My long-awaited book, which first inspired Barren Fruit. Though it began as a manuscript, it grew into a movement. The book is still being written—because my life is still being shaped.

And in development is my AI-based reproductive health advocacy tool—designed to help women navigate healthcare systems, advocate for themselves, and access holistic support. This offers tech-enabled support for those facing reproductive challenges, particularly in underserved communities.

Upcoming Events for Barren Fruit include:

The Be Fruitful Wellness Conference

The Warrior Walk

Retreats and Healing Circles

Workshops for Young Girls to sow seeds of confidence, wellness, and purpose early on.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that shaped my journey most profoundly are resilience, creativity, and determination—but above all, it’s my faith that truly anchors everything I do.
I’m a believer first. That calling—the deep knowing that I was created for this—is what keeps me going through the highs, the lows, and the unknowns. It’s what gives meaning to the work I do, whether I’m designing an experience, mentoring a student, or helping a woman rise from the ashes of infertility.

Resilience gave me the ability to rise again and again—after loss, rejection, disappointment, or detours.

Creativity gave me vision—to see not just what is, but what could be.

Determination gave me the will to keep walking, even when the path felt unclear or unpaved.

But none of these stand alone. They’re interwoven with my why—a calling to help others birth their purpose, just as I continue to walk in mine.

My advice to those just starting out: Get up and walk in it.
You may want to wait until you feel fully ready, fully healed, or fully confident—but purpose rarely waits for perfect timing. Sometimes we run from our calling out of fear, uncertainty, or imposter syndrome. But don’t give those doubts power over you. You were created for greatness.

You were uniquely made—knit together in your mother’s womb on purpose, for purpose. Your pain is not wasted. It can be turned into purpose, but it will require you to be resilient. It will require you to trust what’s already inside of you.

So my encouragement is this: Don’t wait until you feel fearless—just take the first step, and let faith lead the rest.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m always open to meaningful collaboration, especially with those who feel aligned with the mission and want to pour into community.
I’m looking to expand the reach and impact of both Barren Fruit and The Visionary Collective, and I’d love to connect with anyone who feels called to walk alongside this work.

If you’re a marketer, business strategist, web developer, designer, event planner, entrepreneur, visionary leader, nonprofit founder, or small business owner—there’s space for you here. Whether you want to offer your gifts, partner on projects, or collaborate on events and campaigns, I’d love to hear from you.

I’m also developing a digital reproductive health advocacy tool designed to support women navigating infertility and reproductive health challenges through technology, education, and community. As I prepare to bring it to life, I’m actively seeking:

Medical providers and OB/GYNs

Holistic and alternative health practitioners

Sponsors, funders, and impact investors

Advocates and community health workers

UX researchers, AI/tech collaborators, and innovation allies
