We’re looking forward to introducing you to Nicolas Ambrosio. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Nicolas , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are my foundation. I start by watching the sunrise while enjoying an infusion ( sometimes coffee, sometimes tea) depending on the mood and energy I want to cultivate.
Then I dedicate about an hour to yoga, which helps me connect body and mind before diving into the day. After that, I take a few quiet minutes to review my tasks and priorities, setting a clear and intentional rhythm for the day ahead.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Nicolas Ambrosio, a jewelry designer based in New York City. My journey into jewelry design began in an unexpected and life-changing way. Years ago, while traveling through Central America, I was robbed of everything I had. In the middle of that chaos, a friend handed me a small box filled with jewelry accessories and said, ‘You can sell this and start making some money.’ That simple act of kindness completely changed the course of my life. What began as survival turned into passion — and later, a brand that combines raw industrial aesthetics with refined craftsmanship, each piece carrying its own story. Today, I’m focused on transforming that concept into wearable, intimate, and precious items that preserve authenticity and emotion.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My first memory of feeling powerful was realizing the force of intention — as a child, I fixated on a number, a perfect 10 on an exam, and it appeared. It felt small at the time, but it opened my eyes to how thought can shape reality. Years later, I found myself stranded in a foreign country with nothing (no money, no food, no plan) yet I felt an immense calm, as if I had everything I needed within me. Between those two moments, I understood that true power lives in awareness: the quiet belief that creation begins in the mind, and peace begins in surrender.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failing — of not being good enough — has followed me for years. But I’ve learned that failure isn’t the opposite of success; it’s the path that shapes it. Every time I fell short, I discovered another layer of who I am and what I’m capable of becoming.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I wouldn’t say there’s just one version of me, and what is real anyways?. I’ve always felt like a hidden introvert moving through social spaces, performing different roles as life unfolds. In many ways, I’m an actor of circumstances; interpreting reality through whatever moment I’m in. The real me isn’t one fixed identity; it’s the one that appears when I’m fully present, completely aware, and conscious of the role I’m playing in that exact instant.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I expose myself to extremes. The intense heat of a banya (sauna) followed by the shock of a cold plunge. It’s become a kind of ritual for me, a way to reset body, mind, and soul. In those moments, everything unnecessary disappears! there’s only breath, presence, and balance.
